This was bought as a birthday gift to my partner of 16 years they got a kick out of this gift, found it quite useful made a bunch of little Wood figurines.

I decided to buy these to try some carving in my down time. I never done wood carving before so it was a good lesson for me These tools worked pretty good. I didn’t go the route of making a spoon to start off but did some tiki. I wish it came with a small chisel but still A good set. I would recommend for beginners because of the price and how nice and sharp these tools are.

Great set for me as a beginner. Good and sharp and the blades seem to be good quality. Within an hour of opening them I had carved my first spoon. So the handles have been christened with the first blood of this new carver. Great tool and a great price. Just use caution. It is a tool after all

I decided to start getting into whittling and this seemed to be a great starter kit. Started by whittling a few wands for my kids, pretty simple stuff. The blades were razor sharp out of the package, the handles were decent and got my hands well. The strop and compound are good enough to keep an edge sharp. That being said, the blades do dull somewhat quickly. But that’s to be expected from a knife set so affordable. All in all, I’d absolutely buy this set if you’re a beginner and want to get a feel of whittling before moving on to buy higher quality blades.

I’ve only used the whittling knife so far because I’ve only had the set a couple of days - but so far it is excellent. I work with natural wood from my yard and this blade has been much easier to remove (or whittle) the bark from my current branch than my previous blades. The handle is also better for my grip. It’s light but very effective.

The handles on these leave a lot to be desired. You will need sand paper just to be able to hold these seriously 3 splinters opening the package of them. The price is super low so maybe I should have lower expectations but based on other reviews no one mentioned the handle quality. Will update this review once I cam actually attempt to use the tools.

Just comparing this with one of those kits where you could get 10-20 small tools for whittling - this is far more helpful, especially the short straighter blade. It's very sharp and allows you to control everything precisely. I don't use the hooked blade too much but the other two are very helpful.

They are very sharp cut my self 3x getting use to them. They only complaint would be the leather sharpener is a to small. Still use them and have done a few projects with them.
