We tried it both indoor and outdoor.It's not very fast but 4x4 works perfectly and independent suspension system is great.Battery life time is outstanding — we were playing for approx. 30 mins and it was still working.What's not so good — battery cover broke (during indoor usage), fixed by plastic glue but anyway, it could be more reliable.

The media could not be loaded.  This Rock Crawler arrived well packaged in a Cardboard BoxThe Box contained 1x Rock Crawler, 1x Remote Control Unit, 1x Power Supply (Non UK) 1x USB Power Cable, 1x Battery Pack, 1x Instruction Manual.When I was a young boy many years ago, this was the sort of toy that you wanted every Christmas but was way beyond your parents price range, Luckily these items have become affordable to the masses and I'm really glad they have. This is actually my second purchase of this style of Rock Climber, I previously bought one for my 12 year old lad, but his older sister has done nothing but pinch it off him at every chance. This one therefore should lessen the arguments.There's a small amount of setup to do before your off disturbing your plant beds with this. You will firstly need a small cross head screwdriver (Not supplied). This is so you can open the battery compartments on both the control unit and the truck itself. The controller requires 2x AA batteries (Not Supplied) but the truck comes complete with a Rechargeable battery. You will however need to charge up the Truck battery before use. This truck comes with a Power Supply and a USB Charging Cable, however Power Supply is an EU two pin type plug so if you want to use it you'll need a standard UK 2 pin adapter (Not Supplied but available from all pound shops). Fortunately the Charging cable can be used with any USB based Power source, from USB Phone Chargers to PC's and Laptops. I used my 2.4 amp Fast charger and the battery was charged in around an hour. A totally empty battery does take about two hours to charge fully. (There is a red light that is lit whilst charging and extinguishes once fully charged). A full charge will last for anywhere between half an hour to an hour depending on Terrain type and speed of driving. Once charged the battery can be inserted into the Truck battery compartment (The cable plugs into a another cable in the battery compartment and clips into place). Once inserted ensure that you screw the screw back into place to ensure the batteries don't come lose in rough terrain.Your now ready to go. Turn on the power switch on the side of the controller and a red LED will flash, turn on the power on the truck via the power switch on the base of the truck. The LED on the controller should now have changed to a steady ready indicating that the truck and controller have found each other. To control the truck is incredibly easy. You have a trigger button on the front edge with a finger loop. Pressing the trigger makes the truck go forward, pushing the trigger away makes the truck go in reverse. There a wheel on the side of the remote that turns the truck left and right. Pressing the trigger all the way in makes it go at full speed, where as a light press makes it go slowly. It really couldn't get much easier.Now this truck isn't going to win any land speed records, it certainly isn't the fastest remote controlled vehicle I've ever owned. But what it lacks in speed it more than compensates for in torque. Once you set this truck on a path, it's like the terminator. It just keeps going and going. It really will try and climb over anything in it's way. If it hits a wall it will climb attempt to climb it and normally end up on its roof. My (Rather weed strewn) rockery was no match for this car, neither was the (In need of a mow) lawn or the (Torn off in a recent storm) corrugated roofing panels currently strewn across my grass. It has a great 4 wheel drive system ensuring that each wheel provides power no matter where it is and an articulated suspension system like no other I've seen. There are large springs on both sides of the axle that allow every wheel to move significantly ensuring it can pull itself across most rough surfaces. It really is an impressive Truck and certainly worthy of it's name.This truck really is a good bit of fun, I prefer this to the super speedy impossible to control cars I've had in the past, and they are a great introduction to the world of RC vehicles. Hopefully now the fighting over who's taking it out will now stop.

I was disappointed to find there is NO speed control or steering control. It is all or nothing. The control range is minimal with no control over the speed. Speed is a slow walking pace- can't imagine how it could reach the advertised 20kph. It is fine for a 5 year old but older children would soon get bored. Afraid what is advertised is not what you get in the box

Really impressed with this, it happily goes over most surfaces. I had a slight issue with the connector inside the car. I managed to fix it by untangling the cables then rebuilding the connector. Battery life works well, turning circle is fairly big my son loves it.

not fast at all

This is amazing bought it for me brother and he loves it.The products come to me in swift time. It came in a great box that protected the item well.In the box was the monster truck, remote control, battery and connector and an instruction book. The remote control car is so easy to set up.All you have to do is charge the battery prior to using the car, once this is done connect the battery to the connector inside the battery compartment of the car.Make sure the section is secure with the screw and it's ready to use. Then pop battery in the control and it's all ready to use.The control car is a wheel and a back, forwards button. It's easy to control and is hours of fun.the car came in a green colour.Would recommend this to anyone looking for something to buy the kids for Christmas and is hours of fun.

Bought this for my son for Christmas. Fast delivery. Opened up the box to find no batteries and charger. Not happy.

Brought this along with the usb charger. The charger was inside the cars packaging not a separate delivery as I thought it would be. Great product
