Alpine Naturals Fruit Medley Dark Chocolate Cranberries & Yogurt Blueberries, 16 Ounce

Item arrived completely melted, with the cranberries and blueberries swimming in it.Chocolate flavor was good with good mouth feel.

I recently had the Yogurt cranberry + dark chocolate blueberries and found these are the same simply swapped combination.I get if you are going to wrap anything around a tart cranberry that you want that product to be sweet. Here we are wrapping sweet blueberries with a awfully sweet yogurt. Even with four teenagers who have a sweet tooth, the yogurt was WAY TOO SWEET for our liking. You don't taste ANY blueberry, but only overpowering sweet yogurt.The chocolate cranberries were a better balance and you could taste both the chocolate and the cranberries more.+ A big plus that there are no artificial or "natural flavors" (which could be anything hidden in the product) listed as ingredients. This would have been a two-star for us otherwise, but I appreciate the full disclosure on the ingredient list.I do realize taste is VERY subjective. We would not order again, but others may like it...though I see from the other reviewers they too are complaining the yogurt is overpoweringly sweet.In the end this combination was better for us (more tolerable sweetness) than the other combination, thus the extra star.

These weren't to my taste, but I'm not a fan of yogurt so that's not a surprise, and why I didn't review them myself. I wanted someone who would normally eat these to try.In our house, she's the one who is into this kind of thing. I don't mind some power bars or fruit and nut snacks, but yogurt, cranberries, a few things I don't like.She said that the flavors were good though, and worked well together. A little too good, since she said it would've been easier than she wanted to think to just sit and munch more than she should in one sitting.The fact that you can seal the bag up again is another bonus. If these ingredients are something you like, then this will be a hit.

I'm not sure what kind of dark chocolate is used in this mix, but it seems exceptionally firm, not soft at all. While that's probably a good thing in summer, it seems a bit hard in the cooler weather of winter. Even so, it does have good flavor, a perfect compliment to the berries inside.The yogurt covered ones are much sweeter, and eating the two together is a perfect balance, with the chewy dried berries adding a great note to the entire treat.Just as a note to denture wearers, the seeds are definitely there and you will notice them. The berry skins stick to your teeth too, whether your natural ones or ones created in a dental laboratory. Don't eat them before a hot date without checking your teeth for seeds or skins clinging and making unattractive black blotches that will make spinach look good on your teeth though!

The Alpine Naturals Fruit Medley taste really great, with dark chocolate-covered cranberries and yogurt-covered blueberries. The dark chocolate covered cranberries make for a more subtle, complex treat, while the yogurt covered blueberries border on being too sweet, but when eaten together, they really have a more balanced, chocolate berries and cream kind of flavor. Alpine Naturals is definitely using high quality ingredients and the stand-up, resealable bag is a nice touch (not that these are going to last long under any circumstances). The sweetness of the yogurt aside, I did ultimately enjoy these quite a bit, so if you like the idea of chocolate covered berries with cream and need a little bit of decadence in your life, these are worth a shot.
