My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. She read it first on her own and then I read it to her followed by other family members. It's a very heart-warming story and I like the connection to the Persian culture.

One of my 7 year old daughter's favorite books.

The words are simple but speak to that sense of truth and love that we want our children to see in the world.The story is of a girl who lost her ball of yarn and knocks on an older woman's door. To get her yarn back, she must do three tasks for the woman. The girl sees the truth behind the woman's words and answers her requests with love and kindness. She is rewarded. Another tries to do the same and fails.The story is beautifully written, and even weeks after reading 100s of books this summer, this one is the only that still resonates with me and my boys. It is a story that all children will benefit from, but doesn't have that preachy moral-of-the-story sound. It really is just an extraordinarily lovely story. I wish more books were full of rich stories like this one. It is one of a kind.The illustrations are amazing- icing on a cake, really. I would recommend this book to anyone with kids- boys, girls, teachers.

A beautifully illustrated book and a lovely story. I am looking forward to reading this with my little one. It's possibly a little too wordy for her right now but the illustrations are brightly coloured and very engaging for children of all ages.
