Jif Natural Creamy Peanut Butter Spread, 18-Ounce (Pack of 6)

I've been a consumer of natural peanut butters "forever" & am familiar with its ingredients. That's why I felt confident ordering JIF, a name brand online. HOWEVER, the ingredients really need to be listed on Amazon. This natural peanut butter has molasses & palm oil in it. Palm oil I'd seen before & do limit intake of it but for a bulk "emergency" type food, I was willing to allow it. This JIF is listed as "no stir" so I figured palm oil was an ingredient.The molasses was a new 'trick" to me. Several of my family are allergic to calcium & can't tolerate JIF's 2%Ca , a result of the molasses. So now I'm making a donation to the local homeless shelter instead of to my family's emergency stock. Even though we're "Prime " Amazoners ,I'm not returning it because I have a feeling Amazon will say the return's not their fault & the shipping would be ginormous due to the weight. Since the ingredients are listed on the individual jars, the shelter can make informed use of it.

This peanut butter is WAY to sweet. Sugar is the 2nd ingredient and it also has molasses. Do we really need both? Maybe that helps with staying mixed or spread-ability - I don't know so molasses may be "needed." At least reduce the sugar if not eliminate it. It would taste much better and be even healthier. The idea is to reduce sugar intake for us and our kids, not develop a taste for it. Kids will definitely love it because it is overly sweet.

While I like peanut butter, six jars will last about a year. Within several months of sitting in a pantry, the oil will separate from the butter. All you have to do is stir it. Do not operate heavy machinery after eating. For entertainment, provide a spoonful of peanut butter to one dog and enjoy.

As most nutritionists and weight lifters will tell you, peanut butter is a near-perfect food. High in protein, relatively low in saturated fat, and easy to eat in a hurry, it's probably the healthiest quick protein-fix outside of a protein shake. And as far as peanut butter brands go, Jif Natural Creamy Peanut Butter is one of the best.A single 2-table-spoon serving (which, to be honest, is probably a smaller serving than most people eat) contains a good amount of protein (7g), a fair degree of fiber (2g), low sodium (80 mg), and very little carbs (8g). Like all peanut butters it's somewhat high in fat (16g) but relatively low in saturated fat (3g).It should also be noted that though Jif Natural peanut butter contains no artificial flavors or preservatives, it does contain a small amount of added sugar (3g) and is, like Skippy's natural peanut butter, made with palm oil in addition to the natural peanut oil. Die hard natural food-eaters will object to Jif's peanut butter on both of these counts, but from a usability perspective most consumers will probably prefer Jif to "truly" natural peanut butter, which (because peanut oil, unlike palm oil, separates and rises to the top of the jar) is messy and requires frequent stirring before use. Jif's natural peanut butter, on the other hand, looks and tastes exactly the peanut butter most of us have grown up with--only it's better for us!

My family goes through a lot of peanut butter. We have tried all the best brands and find this one to have the very best taste around. We bought the creamy and the crunchy and absolutely love them both. I have done side by side taste tests with my family and we all agree that the Jiff Natural has the best taste of them all. This is our new favorite product and will keep buying it from Amazon at a great price.Tom

Jif Peanut butter is very good and we have bought it for years, but due to their new advertising campaig we will not be buying it again.

I have always been partial to Jif but have been trying to feed my family a more healthy diet. I was SO excited when I found this product and even more thrilled when I found great prices on it at Amazon. I love having it delivered to my door.

This is the best peanut butter I've ever tasted. Once you try it, you will never go back to regular
