active use with GSD for over a year - still going strong
My dog loves this and so do I. I had purchased a flirt pole from a small company but it was ultimately a disappointment. The wand was half the length of this one, much heavier and with no give, while the rope was half the length as well. I got dizzy every time I used it and the whole gizmo was so short that my dog was bumping into me constantly, trying to get the end of the rope closest to the wand. This one beats that one on every metric. It's long (both the wand and the rope) and flexible. I can make it jump back and forth a good ways from where I'm standing without her hitting me or twirl without having to go so fast that I get dizzy. And it comes with an extra teaser rope.I wrote that review a year ago when I bought this but I see now that I never submitted it. I just came back to the page so I could recommend this to another owner and am happy to update this. I've been using this now for more than a year with my GSD. She goes WILD for it. She is so motivated to play with it that I often use it for training purposes -- it's her reward. And she loves it so much that it's an excellent tool (paired with a treat) for teaching "out," because your dog needs to "out" the rope both for their safety and to keep the game going. I can't help but wonder whether the people who suggest this is dangerous have either let their dog chew it unsupervised or haven't taken the time to train their dog.I have used it to help teach my dog a prolonged down-stay -- she has to stay in that position until I'm a very long way's off, sometimes out of sight, until she gets the release command and she can come flying for it. But she has to out it when I say, too - she can't pull it away from me or drag me along. I keep this tucked away so it maintains its high value. And despite hours of chewing and whipping it around, I haven't yet had to take advantage of the extra teaser rope, which is amazing to me. I'd add that there have been times this year when for a variety of reasons, I couldn't participate in active play with her. This was a huge help. I can sit in a chair and move it around me, up and down. She gets tuckered out while I'm good. This is an all around great product for a great price.

My dog loves chasing this
This folds down into a nice compact size, but you do need a decent amount of room to use it (i.e. this is an outdoor activity for me and my dog because I need the extra room to move it around and him to chase it).Time will tell how durable it turns out to be.

Great for big dogs with high prey drive
We have an American Bully/American Bulldog/Labrador mix who has an incredibly high prey drive, so having a flirt pole is a necessity for training and giving her a healthy outlet. We used a different brand prior to this one that worked okay, but the pole wasn't sturdy enough and eventually it snapped right in half.I love that this pole telescopes and locks into place. However, I will point out that the locking mechanism isn't foolproof and you'll likely have to retwist the columns to prevent unwanted telescoping during play.I like that this flirt pole has a stretchy rope instead of your standard rigid rope - it allows for some play in the line, but it also requires careful attention. The toy can snap back at you or pull the pole at the dog, so I recommend letting the pole drop if your furry friend is on the run with the flirt bait.Easy to attach the rope toy at the end and comes with a second back up one. We've been using it for a few weeks now and the rope toy is still in original condition. If you've got a strong dog (ours is 65 lbs) who needs a more durable training toy, I recommend!

its a locking telescope pole which is perfect for my service dog !
it collapses and is light and fits in my dogs knapsack with his bowls and stuff. Perfect for during work breaks to get out some pent up energy. And his kitten plays with him :)

Best dog toy ever!
We had used a cat toy to exercise our young labradoodle but this dog extendable wand is super sturdy and is much safer to use. Great for the price too. Highly recommend it,

Worth every penny
We have 3 large breed dogs. They all have so much fun with this and it wears them out nice and quickly but they also get great playtime out of it. Our GSD is head over paws obsessed and in love with this toy. It is a great outlet for his prey drive he is a very well mannered and tame boy an never chases anything but a ball.Although the minute he saw a toy was at the end of this he was all in and I saw him light up. Our Aussie/BC/Atlas mountain dog mix loves this so much he could go all day he is our rescue boy so he usually just lays back and watches everyone play he is a tad older and other than a Frisbee nothing really interests him but our old boy took right to this toy and was at it for easily an hr:) Our Golden is a Medical alert & Response service dog and he didn't want to play with it at first he had no interest in it which is fine. 2/3 is still great! Then we bought a ball on a paracord rope attached that on there and now he derps around so goofly chasing it, makes for a great outlet when he is having his playtime. Keeps our boys in shape and we couldn't be happier.

Dog likes this
This is a fun, interactive toy for my dog. While she likes this, it doesn't hold her attention for very long. That said, it feels durable enough. The"locking mechanism" on the pole is unconvincing that it actually works.

Fun until it broke
We loved this for the first week, but our puppy pulled so hard the extender broke. We need to find a more durable option.
