it's Frank Miller's best ever Elektra
I picked up the complete hardcopy set. And now, I bought the complete Kindle copy. Simply put, it's Frank Miller's best ever Elektra! Get it! BUT, for those don't like reading looong drawn out comic stories, for those who are kinda' lazy to read a great story that has "too many words", for those who can't appreciate some of the best artwork Marvel has put out there... and I mean some of the BEST ARTWORK EVER! well then, you might not appreciate this brilliant piece of work. However, to me, this is a Masterpiece! It's the some of the best Elektra stuff ever; storyline and artwork!

They just don't make them this good anymore...
Like many of Frank Miller's work before the 1990s, ELEKTRA: ASSASSIN is magnificent on all accounts. It's also neat to see how around this time, and along with Miller's epic RONIN, Miller was splicing a myriad of genres and ideas, such as Sienkiewicz's noir styles to cyberpunk plot-twists, elements of obsession, subterfuge, shame, and even Philip K Dick concepts like memory implants. If Marvel had half a brain, they'd promote this book to no end. The magnitude and rarity of this storytelling gem should be celebrated on a yearly basis. Miller's more recent work may be... unspeakable at times... but a comic like this shows what the medium and committed artists are capable of!

Art is phenomenal.
The art in this book is really fantastic. It's abstract enough to be playful, but realistic enough to render minute details that further the story. The story is disjointed at first, and it takes some time to get used to. Miller is trying to approximate Elektra's broken psyche in the opening issue. It takes some getting used to, but it makes for a great second reading.I'm still a bit confused about the book's ending. No spoilers, but I read it three times and can't quite wrap my head around it.

Do you like acid trips and hot ninjas?
Then this book is for you. If you've never read Frank Miller comics, then start with The Dark Knight Returns before this. If you love it, try this. It's hyper-violent, strange as hell, filled with cyborgs, psychic assaults, sexy ninjas, political incorrectness and spoiled mayo. Seriously, this book is messed up... in a good way. The story is actually pretty simple but told in the most confusingly complex way which is what keeps it interesting.

100% Pure Elektra
Something about the writing of Frank Miller paired with the illustrations of Bill Sienkiewicz that truly makes this book so original and something that belongs in a prestigious museum.

A very strange/violent/inappropriate story, but as well, a very good one. Frank Miller does a good job blending his own spin on writing with an overly great storytelling ability in this story, and is able to find just the right balance without going too weird or inappropriate as he often does.

This is a great book and I am a fan of Frank Miller's older work with Batman and Daredevil. I didn't know much about Electra but this really peaked my interest into the Character more. The art is very unique but fits the character and story well.

Miller & Sienkiewicz: What's not to like?
As per normal Frank Miller Elektra: Assassin is loaded with obscenely grotesque violence and mayhem combined with a non-stop driving story. Sienkiewicz's art is beyond awesome with extremely effective expression that heighten the excitement while delivering satisfying pleasure and amazement of the many tools in his arsenal. This is an oldy but great book.

One of the greats, but I get why not everyone would agree
I read a borrowed copy a long time ago, and it made a vivid impression in my mind. I definitely consider this to be in the top 5 of the graphic novels. The combination of inventive art and story working well together make it great. It is deeply cynical. If you were watching it as a TV series or movie its pacing would be maddening. Structurally it may be considered difficult, with significant events being skipped over in the first person narrative and then suddenly you are with a different character after the event, which then leaves you to think.

Aged Well
First read this in1986 in comic form which are in my collection somewhere. Just as good as I remember, in my opinion it has aged very well. Which is due to Millers storey & sienkiewicz ground breaking art. The Hardcover book is a great way of presenting this storey & is a good quality product
