Mode of action: Drug has anxiolytic (antianxiety) action. Anxiolytic effect occurs with the active ingredient and is accompanied as a hypnotic and sedative effects (sedation expression detected in a drug in doses, which are 40-50 times higher than the ED50 for anxiolytic effect). There are no muscle relaxant drug properties, the negative effect on attention and memory. Taking medication does not produce drug dependence and withdrawal forms. Implementation of the action of the drug occurs mainly in the form of a combination of antianxiety (anxiolytic) and a slight activating (stimulating) effect. The reduction or elimination of anxiety (bad feeling, anxiety, irritability, fear), tension (tearfulness, anxiety, fear, insomnia) are observed after Afobazol. Consequently, there is a decrease of vegetative (dry mouth, sweating, dizziness), somatic (sensory, muscular, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, respiratory symptoms), cognitive (impaired memory, difficulty concentrating) violations recorded 5-7 day drug therapy. Maximum effect is observed by the end of 4 weeks of therapy and maintained for 1-2 weeks in posleterapevticheskom period. The drug is recommended for use in patients with predominantly asthenic personality traits as emotional lability, uncertainty, alarm suspiciousness and increased vulnerability, propensity to stress and emotional reactions.
