Ribon Fresh Plum Hard Candy (Japanese Import) [JI-ICIC]

They taste like a very generic candy with a bit of the salty plum in the center. I was hoping that they were a lot more sour.

Did not like this candy, it had an odd taste. Gave one to a coworker and they spit it out.

I personally love umeboshi. I always have jars in stock in my fridge. So of course I could not stop there. I purchased dried salted plums and they had a bit of a sweetness. So I had been feverishly looking for a sweet/sour candy that has the wonderful taste of these plums. They are unlike anything else. They are wonderfully crafted, the hard candy is delicate but not to sweet, the center is a delicious wonderful surprise of chewy saltiness. NOW for those who find that concept hard to fathom TRUST ME it is not TOO salty it is just right. Sweetness comes through better with a bit of salt, like when baking some of your favorite pastries. A brownie is not quite a brownie if you do not add a touch of salt tot he recipe. I say this from a lifetime with a professional chef as a mother. So these candies are a mix of everything wonderful. Sweet, Sour, Salty. Not too sweet, not too sour, not too salty. They really are a treasured treat. I really do just advise people to try them. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.I was thrilled that I could get a Japanese import candy so quickly! The add on item, having them same week with my prime order I was elated. Great seller! Great product! I hope all truly enjoy this wonderfully unique candy!
