This has a truly impressive performance and specifications, and performs as it says on the tin. I was surprised at how small the box is - but dynamite comes in small packages! However it is not meant for those who want a standard set-top box just to watch & record satellite TV. It has so many features and facilities that setting up requires some experience & involves a learning curve. Which is great for me, because I bought the unit specifically in order to learn and experiment, but don't expect to be recording programs 15 minutes after you first turn it on as you would with a normal satellite receiver. As with most hobbyist type equipment, detailed instructions are not provided - you are expected to teach yourself how it all works. The operating system (Linux variant) can be changed and altered to suit your needs, and you can program bespoke features to do just what you want - stream video to other smart phones & devices, play content from a local server and many other things. There are online support forums offering free software add-ons and even completely different operating systems that you can download and flash to the unit. A hard drive to store recorded programs etc. would have been a nice addition (though made the box twice the size), but you can add a USB3 drive, memory stick or stream it to save on a networked drive so it's no big downside.I dropped it 1 star because it was supplied with a non-UK plug so I had to get an adaptor before I could try it (frustrating!)

I hope someone from Dream Media reads this, there is no support whatsoever out there for this box as it is delivered, there is only the manual, in German of course which requires translation every time you want to reference it. The plugin that is supposed to test whether the box is a genuine Dream-Box does not work, the result is a scrambled message that is inconclusive. I tried to contact Dream Media, their phone lines were engaged but the calls were answered by electronic device of course which means that the call is being charged. I tried to email them from their own web site,submit a query, but the email was returned as unable to deliver, I am now close to despair with this box, it is driving me mad and the only way out I can see is either to return it or to flash it with a more understandable and usable firmware.

Dreambox one need better software just , because hardware is very good. Oryginal "experimental" can't decode movies with DTSHD giving dts core just . Webif missing and kodi so , the best what is missing is openATV 6.4 . To flash it ,need to be connect to internet by Lan socket , wireless not working in flashing mode ! Should be by usb like other receivers .

Good for small spaces, lack of led display and internal hard disk. Android hard to install and no luck to make it work! It has several of troubleshooting like hanging, display card problems, noisy remote control.

It seems I am doomed with this Enigma based system. My box arrived on time and when unpacked I was surprised at how tiny it was. That's said I went through the basically almost useless startup procedure to be greeted by a blank screen and no configuration method of connecting to any satellites. The forums unfortunately have virtually nothing as regard to help as this box is very new and so you are pretty much on your own. YouTube is useless and it is all in German. Never one to be thwarted I assumed the best idea was to install the much vaunted "Dream Elite" software in the hope it might bring the box back to life. There was one page that supposedly instructs you on how to "FLASH" this box. It was obviously written by someone with very poor English and it totally misleading. I will try and correct this myself so that others do NOT have to waste hours trying to figure out exactly what one is supposed to do. Eventually once Dream Elite was installed I then very soon got the dreaded green screen apologising and saying the things had a fault and would need to restart. Of course this did not fix the problem and after checking everything very carefully to make sure I had not overlooked any aspect I could see it was not going to work, so I took it back to its original virgin state and did some research. On the "DREAM" website it lists the software as an "UNSTABLE" version where as old machines the software version is listed as stable?? So might I ask why is a box with "UNSTABLE" software being sold at all??? Then much to my concern, I found a facility that "DREAM" have added to check the authenticity of the box much like Microsoft does with its software. (There are many clones apparently) My box FAILED!!! and it referred me to the "DREAM" web site. I will pursue this further having noticed the thing appears to be made in Hong Kong which does not fill me with confidence!!
