I made elderberry syrup. The flavor is a little sheltering, but it really soothes my cough and throat when I was sick.

Awesome value for money!
Made my first batch of syrup and these tasted amazing and made a great syrup that I will be using for my kid and giving to friend and family to keep their kids above the weather and feeling tip top!

Medicinal in virtue and flavor.
These were exactly as expected. If you've never used elderberries before and don't know what to expect: they are musky and wild smelling, not something you would eat plain. Make into syrup and sweeten, AND add lemon juice. The berries are very low in sugar and acid which is part of what makes them taste weird.

Strong antiviral .. Perfect even 4 kids
I add 1/4 cup with 2 cups of water adds 3 slices of ginger, 7 cloves, small cinnamon stick, and 7 black pepper. I give it to my toddler 1 table spoon or 2 .. 3 times a day when flu symptoms start or when flu enter the house. However if i stopped the course early (before the virus clears) my son wakes up with pain in his throat so continue i would say for 3 days at least after symptoms clears out. It is more effective when u start early before flu symptoms attacks but it is very very effective anyway .. Just as antiviral medication

Buy in season and they are yummy! (August- Sept)
I have purchased 4 bags over a few weeks period and noticed the third bag, purchased a few weeks later, was a little more bitter than the first. I don't think this is a quality issue per say, but the first bag I purchased when elderberries are in peak season, early September. I think the taste differences are due to when your batch was picked. I am going to test this theory next year, but in the mean time, it still tastes good, I add a little vanilla and it mellows it considerably. Also people adding lemon and complaining about bitterness... well, let's just say I have great success with orange zest and squeezing the orange juice in. I have been around some bad flu germs this season, and nothing for me, not even symptoms. Crossing my fingers! Anyway, I took off a star bc of the confusion over the berries being organic or not, my guess is they are wild so they are pretty organic but wouldn't meet the qualifications to stamp a seal on it. It would be nice if they would clear that up. I am hoping the benefits of being wild outweigh not beings USDA organic. I also get tired of the price fluctuations, I won't buy when the prices are high, which seems to happen around December, (so two reasons to buy early).

Good product
Good value! It’s so much cheaper to make your own syrup than buying it from the store, plus no high fructose corn syrup added. Just beware there are little sticks and leaves mixed in with the berries, but just rinse and it’s no big deal if you don’t get them all out, you end up straining the syrup into jars anyway.

Elderberry syrup
I got a bag of this at the perfect time. I have been making myself, my mom and my sister elderberrry syrup to build up our immune systems. I am just a little sad that in order to get more I have to spend more than twice as much or can't find it. :( Hope more shows up soon for the same price I paid before the world went nuts. :/
