Carnivorous Tropical Pitcher Plant - Nepenthes Ventricosa - 3" Pot

I got this plant almost a year ago now, and it has been living happily in my window ever since. The packaging was great, the potting instructions worked well, and the plant itself is currently thriving. A word of warning though, I wouldn't suggest ordering these plants in the winter if you have the option. Even the relatively brief time in the outdoor mailbox at near freezing temperatures was enough to brown some of the leaves. Of course this was in no way a reflection on the supplier, thus the five star rating. Brown leaves and travel stress or not, the little Nepenthes made a quick recovery with a bit of care. If you follow the handling directions, you should have a respectable little pitcher plant flourishing in your home. Just make sure you've got some distilled water handy.

Arrived brownish and wilting. Hoping it comes back under a grow light.

Arrived well prepared but did not last.Too small to get going for the long run. Lasted 1 month while gave me 3 pitchers and then stopped to grow and died.

I’ve had them for awhile and not it’s like I’m watering a dead plant..:/ but I’m still hoping for the best.

as much as i love house plants, i hate house bugs... venus fly traps are great and everything, but they have a limit as to the size of bugs they can eat. i bought this hoping that one day i would have pitchers on it as big as the one in the photo, i knew i was not going to be shipped one that big! it arrived quickly, and was VERY well packed in sphagnum moss, nice touch by the way. i had three pitchers on mine and it looks like it was supposed to have had a fourth, but got ripped off somehow..... oh well. one of the pitchers was cracked, but it will still hold water, probably not bugs though. one of the other pitchers the 'lid' was broken off, and the third one is just perfect.

The people in charge were kind enough to hold my plant until some frigid weather went away. My plant is in good health from what I can tell. I am watering it with rainwater as directed. Thank you, Predatory Plants!

Predatory Plants would not ship until the weather was warm enough to ensure a living plant on arrival. For me, this is paramount in choosing a reputable company from which I have my plants shipped. The pitcher plant arrived in great, healthy shape and has done well in its provided pot. I would recommend repotting soon after, however, as the plastic edges of this pot seemed to be a little rough on the growing pitchers and would cause a slight scar down the back of the pitchers as they grew against the edge. Overall very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend any of their plants.
