I’m not a big camera person, but our dog had a seizure a few weeks before we planned to leave the state. He had to stay behind with some friends that would be staying the night with him. Due to their work schedule he had to stay home alone for several hours during the day. Normally this would have been fine but I wanted to be able to check in on him throughout the day when they weren’t there.What a great peace of mind of this is! I added a large SD to record when the camera captured movement. It can ID “pet”, “bark” and “movement” along with other things. Those were the things I set to be alerted to. It didn’t fail at all the whole time we were gone. Unfortunately Tapo doesn’t let shared users to turn off and on the privacy mode, but I trust our friends enough so gave them my login. I wouldn’t recommend this to just anyone. It wasn’t hard to change the password when they left so it was fine as a work around. It’d be nice if they made an option for what controls a shared person could change.The camera zoom came in handy when I couldn’t figure out where our pup was, usually on my chair where I could only see part of him. It’s nice to be able to scan the room from another state. The picture is clear enough to suit our needs, but may not be ideal if an extremely clear video is needed.We never needed the night vision but I did mess with it before we left. Overnight I was able to see the cat being crazy and running around the living and dining rooms.I didn’t use the talk very often but I did use it to calm my buddy down shortly after we left and also had a couple convos with our dog sitters when they came in and the camera alerted me of movement. They said it was clear on their end and it was good on mine too.When we are home I just lift it up and turn it to face a wall because I’m paranoid. I still turn it on every time I leave for an extended period of time, which isn’t often. It makes leaving my furry best friend behind much easier since I can check in on him.Overall I highly recommend this camera for peace of mind if you need to check in on your pets while you’re not home. It was worth every penny and I’d buy again in a heartbeat.

This indoor security camera has great picture quality! The app is easy to download. It is pretty easy to set up. It has a long power cord that makes it convenient to place where you want it. The Pan/Tilt feature works great. You can playback the videos 2 ways. You can select the day/time from the videos listed or use the slider at the bottom to scroll thru the day. That is a neat feature, especially if you want to see something specific. The night vision is great! Very clear. It is a nice size. You can purchase the optional wall mounts. I really like this security camera. It is a great value! I definitely recommend it!

Set up was a breeze.. i had to supply my own power supply.. it works in dark really well. sometime it takes a try or two to connect but for the price you cant beat it... app is easy to use and you can have more than 1 camera.. I dont use the record playback feature. i just check real time whats happening and then I close the app. Microphone is just ok. daytime color is great.. night time IR is black and white. Its nice you can turn off the light on the front so they cant see the camera is on or off.

Not a bad little camera. I bought this camera so I could see my dog when I'm not at home . I don't know how well the microphone actually works because when I try to talk to her through my phone when I'm not at home, she does not really respond. The other negative aspect is there is a bit of a weird lag, but its still a nice camera for easy uncomplicated viewing. I don't record anything. I simply use it to spy on my dog anything above that I can't attest to I think you have to use an SD card if you want to record and store footage, but that's not what I was after so it serves my purpose and was very very reasonable price wise

These cameras are working great. We use them to monitor our mom at a home nearby. We do not generally talk to her over the camera so as not to disconcert her, but we have used the chat feature to talk to a caregiver on occasion. The sound quality is quite clear and the picture is great. The night vision also works great, although we generally don't need that.We use the tapo app, which is free, with four cameras in place around the home. We do not need the paid monitoring features because we are only interested in current images, not past recordings. The pan and zoom features are helpful, and the presence of the cameras has not been disruptive. The high resolution is worth paying for and while this may provide access to our images to someone in China, this is not of interest or concern to us or to them.This has been a great resource to complement on site caregiving, as our five minute response time from around the corner is better than we could expect in any assisted living situation.

I wanted to keep an eye on my dog While I left the room or when I’m in bed and can’t see him, and this camera works great! The picture quality is so much better than I anticipated for a $17 camera. It even has night vision as you can see in my picture. It’s really easy to set up and mount however, I used a different mount than it came with so that I could look around the corner. I really like the two way talk feature so that I can tell my boy to stop what he’s doing if he’s being naughty. There is slight lag, but honestly, it’s like a second or two, and to be honest, it’s probably more of a network issue than a camera issue because we have multiple cameras and devices as a five person household so the Internet is stretched thin. It’s also so easy to rotate the image in the app if you hang it upside down, plus the app has so many great features in general.

Wow…technology has really come a long way. The price didn’t have me anticipating anything great but I was mistaken! This little camera is amazing. It pans, zooms, has 2-way microphone allowing us to listen and speak. The color and image quality is excellent. We were in Palm Springs and easily checked the app to check on our dog/visiting family members who were hanging out with our dog. We were able to hear them and talk to them with just a slight delay. Incredible. So much so, we’re buying an outdoor one too.
