Chivers Jam was born in 1873 when the Chivers family started to make jam from their family orchard. The flavors within the Chivers Jam range are all fat free and carefully made without any artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

The Best!
I've been enjoying this marmalade for years. It's not easy to find, so I was delighted to find it here. No other ginger marmalade comes close to this in flavor and texture; they're either too sweet or too stingy wirh the ginger. This is perfect. I bought some "ginger marmalade" from a well-known vendor from a northern state and it was awful...overly-sweetened orange with a hint of ginger flavor. Buy Chivers....this is the real thing.

best ginger preserve on the market
Our family style grocery used to carry this English made product, but no longer. So when I found it on Amazon, and at a reasonable price - no more than I was paying at the store, - I was delighted. One man said it made a better Peanut butter and jelly sandwich than any of our conventional jams and jellies. He is so right. It is a perfect match. It is great on toast. Of course, it has sugar in it, but nothing called High Fructose Corn Syrup, the second thing on most labels. And lovely, chunky pieces of ginger all through it.

I Prefer McKay's Spice Ginger Marmalade
Based on online reviewers' raves, I ordered a case of six but found I still prefer McKay's Spiced Ginger Marmalade I can get online or support local stores, though this has a pleasantly natural aftertaste after its wan sugary first taste & thin texture, & a few good lumps of ginger in it.

Chivers Ginger Marmalade
Chivers Ginger is my absolute favorite marmalade. I have devoured it for years. Recently it has become very difficult to find, but I did find and order it on Amazon. Amazon was wonderful in sending it quickly. The marmalade has the taste I remember, but not the texture. It was full of great bits and pieces of ginger, Now it seems to have very little texture- more corn syrup, water and pectin. Somehow the taste is still really good.

Hard to Find - Worth the Trouble
Got this for my Mom, who's been eating Chivers for decades but now can't find it in supermarkets where she lives. She loves it!

used it to instead of grape jelly for a PB&J sandwich
I bought this preserve at the local grocery store. I got tired of the usual grape, stawberry & apricot jams when I bought this preserve to try in their place. I always felt that, in general, peanut butter overwhelmed the traditional use of grape jellies... I've known many people to heap on the grape stuff in an attempt to compensate for this. I suspected that ginger, being a stonger flavor, would be better suited for this purpose and in my opinion, I was right. the ginger complimented the peanut butter very nicely and required less product to be used.if you're hesitant to purchase this product because your not sure how or when you would use it... buy it and get creative. I liked this stuff so much, I plan to make it a staple in my home.
