No Better Value @ This Price Point!
<tldr> Ver 0.0.1Great buy for "Home Gamer" or "Bootstrap Budget," though could use better heatsinking and/or active air movement."How I arrived at the above opinion - First, the bad:While the diodes themselves are capable of great numbers (u-moles/joule wise), the power factor overall on the unit I recieved only comes in at 65% running at 120 VAC. That's a 35% energy loss. Also, this unit gets hotter than Hades on the top-side, which may account for some of the inefficiancy, and will SURELY shorten the life of the diodes as well as other DC powered devices on the luminary board, AND the AC to DC supply as well.I pointed a fan at it from over-head (as best I could) and sure enough the pf (power factor) rose to 67 over time, but just barely, and the fan cooled it enough that I could keep my hand on it without *serious* discomfort, which is othereise IMPOSSIBLE. (And I have a working man's hands)The ambiant air temp where I'm testing this is 71-74°F, and it's a small light in an open-air livingroom. I don't want to HAVE to have CONSTANT air movenent all the time I'm running it, but, it seems I'll have to work up some better heat-sinking and air movement if I really expect this thing to live through the three year warranty and beyond. (Which I do!)So, now - the good:1- You really are NOT going to find a better light at the price point I bought mine at. (It was $45)2- I COULD (and likely will) add additional passive heat-sinking, just to make the unit I bought run cooler and really LAST. Granted, I'm a techie sort, and just like to tinker. The expense of some good heat sink material, thermal paste and time involved to fitting such hardware really isn't worth it, but - yeah - I'm a nerd, and I'm also on a budget - ALWAYS. :)Having the 4 color temps this light provides is key to it's effectiveness as a horticultural light, and it seems to hold it's own against against MH as far as plant health - although not QUITE as good. Small metal halide lamps are WAY less energy efficiant that huge ones though, so the energy cost savings are - HUGE over using say, 250W hid, metal halide OR HPS."Finishing" under something like a 315W cmh, 600W HPS, or similar output LED (if one can afford such an expensive luminair) is likely a good direction to move in after these little guys for those growing plants like hot peppers, as an example, but these small units DEFINATELY have an important place leading up to that!I'd hazard to say that one could likely achive great results with 3-4 of these BP-1000's on larger, more mature crop plants. Some plants will practically grow fine in a cardboard box as long as you shine a flashlight in there from time to time, but if you grow anything they is finekey <and/or> fast growing, light *spectrum* is key. LED (light emitting diode) devices have a very narrow spectral output, or if you prefer, "light band," which is why an assortment of different diodes MUST be combined to achive anything near acceptable results.I did look at the Spider Farmer and a few others with similar output/coverage claims, and a Mean Well driver - with dimming - "and - and- and (other features/qualities)" are a great value long term if it doesn't blow you budget >however< . . . this Bllom Plus BP-1000 does what it does as well as can be done at a price-point - and doesn't have other features (Ie: dimming on what is already a SMALL Horticultural Lumanaire) - that *could* be a future failure point for a feature that, let's face it, isn't really a huge money-saving benefit to beguin with.THIS - is why - after doing my own research - I chose this Bloom Plus BP-1000. I don't generally suffer from buyer's remorse, and I don't suspect I will in this case either. YMMV, as they say.If you enjoyed my review, AND found it in any way helpful, please do let Amazon and others know by giving it a "helpful" click.

Wow!
So far I’m impressed. It’s really bright. It’s a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be I don’t know why I didn’t take a tape measure out to figure this out before I ordered it but it’s actually pretty big. I’m thinking about ordering another one. The price is on point I mean I really can’t complain. I know a lot of people use these for growing marijuana I’m using mine for my salad bar I just prefer to do my growing indoors because there’s a lot of pesticides in the air where I live from farms. Anyways I’m pretty impressed with this light I can’t believe how bright it is and the plants seem to like it. If anything should go wrong I will update this i’m happy with my purchase.UPDATE: I ordered another one. You cant get any other light with this quality for less than a dollar a watt. All other brands charge $1 per watt or more.Update: got my bp3000 seems to be working as good as my other one if I have any problems I’ll give you guys an update other than that I’m really happy with the purchase. Can’t beat it for less than a dollar a WATT!!

It had so much potential...
Update: Bloom Plus responded to my email offering to send a new light out but amazon had already processed the return before they got back to me. I may order a new light from them soon. I'm giving an extra couple stars for the customer service. For me, good customer can be the difference between 2 stars and 4. The light still malfunctioned so I can't give it 5 stars. So I ordered this light on June 26. I have prime so it came next day on june 27. Today, June 28th, I plug it in and BAM...light blows out after a couple of minutes. It's a shame because this thing was BRIGHT BRIGHT! i didnt even get a chance to put it over my plants in my tent. If I did, I have little doubt that my plants would've loved this light. I tried to contact the company via email this morning but so far I've received no response. Have to return it and hope for a refund. I'm tempted to re-order it because I'm thinking it couldve just been THIS particular unit that had an issue because after reading most of the comments and watching YouTube for reviews I was pleased enough to purchase. Now I have to search for a different light. If Bloom Plus responds and we can come to an agreement to fix the issue then I will update my review. Also with this model (BP1000) there is no dim switch and it does get hot really quickly. You'd probably need to put a little fan over top of it and let it blow down on the back of it. Also the driver is in a weird position. It's on the side of the front next to the lights. I'm sure it would block some lights but it's so bright that it probably wouldnt matter much but as far as leveling it out to hang over ur plants, you'll have to do some "macguyver" moves(the OG's know what I mean lol) I was going to give 1 star but decided to give 2 because it did arrive next day and for the few minutes (and I mean FEW) that it did work, it looked really good.really bummed this purchase didnt work out. Now I'm waiting for a response from bloom plus and a refund. I bought it using a coupon I had so I got a few bucks off for it and now I dont have the coupon anymore so I'll have to pay full price for a new light. Bloom Plus, holla at me. Let's make it right.
