The media could not be loaded. This morter and pestle set is pretty heavy. I got the large one and I love it. My guess is, it weighs 2 or 3 pounds. It's easy to wash, and use. I highly recommend it.

It is what it is - very good for most stuff - but not for small seeds!

I wasn't sure about the size since most of stainless steel mortar is smaller than this one but this is just perfect for me. It's not too big nor too small. With the plastic cap, I don't have to worry about any mess when I grind anything. It's a bit heavy to hand wash for me and since it is supposed to be heavy, I just put this in dishwasher rather than hand wash, which can be much faster. I definitely recommend for anyone who needs practical mortar in the kitchen.

Its very sturdy and easy to clean. Does the job.

Extremely disappointed. While I understand that 20 bucks won't get you a solid steel pestle, I was not expecting the pestle to be made of very thin gauge steel either -- it feels like is perhaps the thickness of a soda can filled with something else for weight -- sand, clay? I have been using it to grind medicine tablets, and in just a month of use, the pestle face has already deformed and dented to the point that it cannot be used reliably that purpose anymore.Like I said, this is rubbish. If I could return it, I would... but it is now 5 weeks since I bought it.
