Rikon 14In Open Stand Bandsaw

I just assembled it and was very impressed with many of the features my old 18" gorilla didn't have. It seems to run smoothly. The test will be when I start using it.

It's built well, heavy. Quite running and the blades guides are easy to adjust. I like the available resaw height too.

I “upgraded” from a WEN bandsaw and I’m pleased with the difference. Of course one gets what they pay for. This machine is considerately heavier, sturdier and comes with nice amenities such as the bigger fence. The controls are easier to manipulate and one can “diagnose” proper settings nicely. Added my own magnetic table lamp for just a few bucks that works well. I love being able to observe the placement of the cutting blade and the fact the guide railing for the blade can be completed opened. The package came a little battered (just like UPS always does) but the packaging was well designed and there were no mechanical or superficial damages. I did require the aid of another person getting the box into my shop and later lifting the saw onto the stand but was not too difficult with an extra pair of hands. One thing to note about the fence. It is sufficiently long it can be set to go across the entire cutting table (which I did). But... in doing so one is then unable to remove the fence entirely as the length of the fence is longer than the space between the table and the bottom of the upper wheel compartment. Overall though it’s a nice device. What makes it even nicer is ensuring the assembly and settings are zeroed in as good as one can get prior to using.

Great saw. the blade that came with it was junk . changed it no more problems
