Replacing a Sprayer Pump? - Read This
I am soooooo happy with this.I have a Chapin 97300, 15 gallon sprayer with a pump rated at 2.0 gpm and 80 psi. With it, I could spray out to 20-30 feet. I use it for herbicide on four acres, fence lines and bloodweed patches. I carry it around the property in the tractor loader bucket and spray from the tractor seat.Yesterday, it began leaking - no, spraying wildly - from the pump discharge. Chapin uses a pump with a proprietary oddball connection, and that connector had come apart. You cannot replace the connector. It is integral with the pump. A new pump is over $100, factory or replacement brand. The whole sprayer is only $174.So I looked to Amazon. I found this one, rated for less flow and a bit more pressure. There are several on Amazon. I picked this one for its few but good reviews and because it had 3/8" hose connectors and similar specs. The sprayer originally had a manifold with pressure gauge and a bypass to reduce pressure, but I never used it and saw no reason I ever would, so I left that off. If you need that, figure on a different pump or a bypass manifold. This $24 pump, physically a bit smaller, precisely fit the original threaded inserts in the tank body, so it mounted right up, which was a great relief and unexpected. Perhaps most sprayers have identical arrangements. The original pump had rubber shocks, so to reuse the original screws, I had to reuse the shocks. No big deal. Probably for the best, anyway. I could have simply used shorter screws. The original suction hose was too large I.D. for the pump's 3/8" outlets. I used some old 3.8 hose from another defunct sprayer I had saved for parts. The original spray head hose fit fine.I wired it to the old switched wiring and tested it. I thought I had a problem, because it ran quietly for a couple of minutes and put out a pitiful flow, but I think it was just priming itself and was designed not to run hard when dry. Once primed, it didn't have to do that again. When it primed, the speed picked way up, and the flow was not different from what I remembered with the original pump. (It's a little noisy, but that doesn't matter unless you use it in an RV for water.)Response was instantaneous. Pull the spray head trigger and get full power and flow. The whole change out took about an hour, counting time hunting parts and tools and removing the old pump.I consider this a remarkable bargain. 24 hours to be back in action for $24. And this one doesn't have some mutant pump connections to fail. I would say it would be no problem to build your own sprayer, once you had a controlled spray head. Mount the pump to a tank and go. I think I will buy another one of these and rehab my old dead sprayer for fertilizer. All this is, of course, without any experience over time, and I'll report back if it fails untimely. But if it lasts a year, I'm happy.Still no record of durability, but I have now ordered and received a second of these pumps and used it to rehab another tank sprayer with a defunct pump. Same experience as before. Mounting hole fit this one, too, a different brand from the first one. Started right up, primed, and worked as before with good output, sufficient for me to sit in the tractor seat and work at a distance of 20 feet with a tight stream or ten feet with a wider spray.

Used nonstop no fail
I’m using the pump as a circulation pump in an old hot tub. It’s kinda loud but not bad. I had it going for 7 months or so even ran it dry accidentally for a couple of days, a couple of times, no issue. Works like a charm. I bet it’ll work for years. It self primes and the pressure cutoff is fully functional. Great value. Just remember water + electricity without a surge protector would be dangerous.

Works great but too loud
I had bought a few smaller pumps before and they did not last long ... this one does!! It's been running every day for a month for about 6h.The only issue is the noise level. Just too loud for comfort.

It is effectively a good pump.
Well this is a great motor. It is loud. I use it to push water through some tubing to keep some equipment cool. However it is indoors so it is really loud. Trying to make a muffler for it now. It works great though! This thing pushes water and circulates it fast and efficient. I am running it about 9 hours every time I use it which is about 2 to 3 times a month. We will see if it lasts. So far I have used it twice.

Cheap. works as good as higher priced pumps. $17.95 special
Easy to install just like OEM except for a small change in how wires go into pump motor. came with rubber shock mounts. feet holes line up perfectly with mounting holes in tank. does not come with screws. reused old screws. does not come with power connector plug. bought new plug. You can use old plug if in good condition. new pump has more pressure but within rating of spray wand and hose. works better than original. does not come with battery power cable or battery clamps. I used new clamps and old cable. Highly recommend even at regular $24.95 price.

Did not last one trip. Junk. Too late to return.
Wow , folks were describing the power..... it has some mighty push. Broke two types of hoses leading to the RV faucet. Finally had to use a dishwasher hose and some ingenuity! Worked ......Hope it lasts in the RV. Well on the First shake down trip. Pump failed. Worked at install. First camping trip. Nada! made Noise no sucking of water. With or without filter.Unproven junk with good advertising.

compact pump
The first pump I received would run but would not pump water. The return and replacement process was easy through Amazon. The replacement pump was clearly used and contained foul-smelling water but worked and allowed me to finish my project. I am a bit disappointed but at least I have one that works. Quality control may be a problem.

Good flow, a bit noisy. Easy installment.
This was the last missing piece to my cabin project running on solar. All and all it works well. The water flows (slightly more then I think necessary or wanted). Sound wise it would be super with a cover option of some sort so the sound level could be cut by half. When the kids are sleeping it’s not an option to use (considering the cabin is just one whole room). End note: Happy with the product and the service.
