Dead on arrival
As far as I can tell, it's dead on arrival. The instructions say to click the CUFF logo to wake up the Cuff. I did that, got a red light, got a notice in the app that it needed a firmware update and that it would take a couple of minutes. 15 minute later, nothing happened. I tried restarting the app, I got a firmware needs to be updated notice. Nothing happened. It told me to wake up my CUFF by pressing the logo, did that. Now, no light at all. I can open and close the app and get the firmware update notice, but that's all. Certainly not what I was hoping for when I bought this.Update: I'm changing my review from 1 star to 3 stars. I was able to finally get a light to show up on the unit, (I restarted the phone, reinstalled the app, and just pushed the button repeatedly) and it's now linked through the app. II still can't get the buzz notifications when my husband texts me, because the CUFF is constantly losing the connection to the phone, but I'm increasing the review to three stars because of the customer service. the tech support is still trying to find a resolution to my problem and will contact me again.I have to say it's a Sunday afternoon and tech support has called me twice. Tech toys, especially new ones, rarely work right out of the box and may need some tweaking. I'm ok with that, since I'm an early adopter of all sorts of things and this isn't the first time this kind of thing has happened. If I am able to get this fixed, or if I have to return it, I will update this again, and change the review again to reflect my experience.

Better than nothing.
2.5 stars - It's okay, but I don't like itBroke down and bought the Cuff, expecting it to be delivered on October 1st. I'd already bought an Artemis (Indigogo which failed to come to the market) and a First Sign (which shut down without notice but was the best one since it called 911, had an assault/fall feature, had a loud siren, a "silence" feature so that you could "fake" shut it off even though the alert was still active) and that device was supposed to work with V.ALRT but the app won't work on my phone (two days with tech support and they can't figure it out because it should work on a Galaxy S4). So, I desperately bought a Cuff. (And now I see there is another Indigogo product called Athena/ROAR that's supposed to come out next year...I can only hope it's better.)Well, I finally got it last week and I'm underwhelmed. I got it to work quite easily right out of the box. It stays connected just about as good as anything Bluetooth (comparing to my headset). I am not pleased that my emergency contacts also have to download the Cuff app to find out where I am and to help. I hate it when companies force stuff like this, but I could live with it if the thing works when I need it (I'm a Real Estate Agent)The problem? It falls off easily and I don't even notice when it happens. Just today I looked inside my handbag and there it was - must've "scraped" off my wrist when I had my handbag hanging off my arm. I can't believe I haven't lost this thing yet because I keep finding it inside my gym bag or handbag or next to my bed or in the laundry hamper or on the floor of my car. The wrist strap is just too soft and flexible and doesn't lock down securely enough. I've even taken to wearing it tighter than I normally wear my watch, but it still keeps falling off.I'm also concerned what's going to happen when the battery dies since there is no way to charge it. Hoping something better comes out by then.

Worthless scam! Class action needed
I purchased this item for my Mom that has Lupus, after a ton of research, because she needed to have a way to contact us in case of emergency. She is unable to work, and on several occasions has been unable to get out of bed or needed a ride to the doctor, but was unable to reach us for one reason or another,, Enter CUFF, I must say in the beginning I was very happy as was my Mom and family.. her because it is stylish, and she loved wearing it, and the rest of the family because we would have the peace of mind knowing she could reach us when needed.I must also preface this with, I researched several other options before buying this, and settled on the CUFF due to the style and options of wearing it, between the band or necklace or leather bracelet option, they all looked perfect for her since I have bought my Mom so many different medical items in the past, only to have her never use them because she didn't like the look, or was to proud to have some medical looking device on her wrist. So yes, the Cuff seemed to be the answer.. but a few months ago, I went to check on it since I noticed it wasn't working and saw that the company had closed! Okay, I should have heeded the warnings of all the people that pre-ordered theirs and were so upset at how the company treated them, strung them along etc.. but I didn't because there were some recent happy people that did get their device, and I really wanted to believe in this company. But now all of us are out $60 plus and we're stuck with a worthless product, and no way to get any compensation. And Amazon won't refund due any of us due to the time limits for return, but it has been less than 6 months and the company and their product are worthless!!So save your hopes, and your money.. I think this was some sort of scam carried out by CUFF, because they duped hundreds if not thousands of women into buying a product that they NEVER delivered on!I think we should start a class action lawsuit against these people.

The Cuff
I ordered this late Friday afternoon and said it would arrive on Tuesday, I was fine with that. It arrived today Monday. A day early. After reading some of the terrible reviews I was hoping I did the right thing ordering. I am a happy Camper right now, set it up right out of the box and sent A couple test Alerts and all went well, it hasn't fallen off as someone said, it is comfortable to wear, don't really know I have it on.
