High quality for the price
I’ve been using this receptacle to charge a 2024 jeep wrangler for two weeks with no issues. It charges in 2 and 1/2 hours on a 32A charger and barely gets warm. I plug it in and out once a day so we will see how long it lasts. So far so good. I can buy three of these for less than one of the HD Hubbles. If it lasts half as long as one of those it will be more than worth it.

The lower priced Hubbell 14-50 receptacle is outstanding
The lower priced Hubbell 14-50 receptacle has the same "vice" type wire securing apparatus as the gold standard expensive industrial Hubbell/Bryant outlet, instead of everyone else's "bolt screwed into the wire" securing method. The size is the smaller than the industrial version, but that is good in my situation as my exterior car charging water-resistant "Midwest" box from Home Depot is only designed for the smaller receptacle. I ditched the Leviton receptacle that came with the Midwest box and replaced it with the Hubble. No regrets. Another quality product from a quality manufacturer.

Advise NOT to use for EV charging
This should be fine for the usual 50 amp outlets, like a dryer ( because it is unlikely to be used for an extended period of time) or an electric range (because it will not be plugged, withdrawn, again plugged, withdrawn, etc.). The conditions required for an EV outlet (such as TESLA) require high current for prolonged periods of time, and repeated plugging and unplugging, those are conditions this outlet is likely unsuitable for. Furthermore, and very importantly, my understanding is electrical code requires outlets to be installed to manufacturer specifications. In this instance the type of unit required is better served with Allen screws, rather than Phillips head screws (this outlet has Phillips head screws), so that the required torque to 75 in/lbs. with a torque screwdriver can be achieved. That is best achieved with a HUBBELL NEMA 1450 Industrial receptacle with Allen Head screws, using a torque screwdriver (see the link https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IPBMUKY/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_4?smid=A21ID8XIZWJNGL&th=1#:~:text=Straight%20Blade%20Devices,the%20Hubbell%20Store),or alternatively Bryant 9450FR (made by Hubbell) Industrial receptacle. Do not forget to ground the green connector to the gang box. Use professional connectors and correct "wiggle technique tightening" or consider using ferrules. There are other options as well. Lastly, I AM NOT an electrician, just a homeowner who did some study. That all been said, I advise all to utilize the services of a professional licensed electrician for many reasons. However, having this information will empower you to be sure the electrician you personally have is fully aware of the dangers of using an incorrect outlet, as well as being aware of best practice techniques, and avoiding a disaster. Better to pay the extra price on this one for SURE. I hope this helps.

The real thing
It is beefy and one can tell is the real deal, they are a CLONE of the Hubbell and made by the same company. No need to get Hubble since this one is built the same way inside and out. It will tackle the constant flow of amps in an EV charger. Way better and safer than the cheap one made for ovens you find in big stores, which are risky since ovens turn on and off and are not eating amps all night long.

GREAT 14-50 Outlet for an EV!
This Hubbell 14-50 receptacle model RR450F is a Great affordable outlet to use to charge an EV! I use it to charge my 2022 Hyundai Tucson Plug-In Hybrid PHEV SUV. It flows 32 amperes, 7.65 kw, for 1 hour and 50 min through my ChargePoint Home Flex charger to fully charge the 13.8 kwh battery. At the end of the charge, the charging cable and plug is ever so slightly warm. Furthermore, when I unplug the plug the blades are also ever so slightly warm too!I heeded the warning from other reviewers who used the $11 Leviton 14-50 receptacle sold at Home Depot who said that after the charge their charging cord and plug felt overheated and the plug blades were too hot to touch. This Hubbell Trade Select 14-50 receptacle is physically deep (you will need a 2 inch deep box), has full width blades to contact the charger plug blades, and uses clamps when you screw it down to sandwich/connect the AWG #6 stranded copper wires I used. It needs a cover plate with a 2.15 inch opening, widely available. The ChargePoint plug stays plugged in all the time.It does a GREAT job for $13.99 and is far cheaper than the Hubbell 9450A (which a lot of reviewers recommend) receptacle at a cost of $141!!!

Nice plug 240v outlet
Shipped on time. Conductors on the inside are solid, better than the $10 ones.

AV Charging
Did not charge AV on 32Amps as advertised. After 5 minutes go down to 16A.

Great Outlet
Im using this outlet for my EV and since I switched the outlet is no longer overheating. Do not buy the cheap home depot or lowes out. HUBBELL is the way to go.
