This combination of ingredients, which includes natural salt (for a saline-like balance) plus xylitol for a nasal rinse works especially well. The xylitol helps create a difficult environment for mucus to grow and thrive and the balance of salt with water keeps it from stinging or feeling like you're drowning/choking.I use it morning and night, adding a capful of Alkalol to the mix, following the advice of several ENTs after suffering from severe allergies and chronic sinus infections. The routine has drastically cut back the frequency of sinus infections.My only complaint is the packaging. It's a papery packet that is easy to tear, but otherwise impractical. It gets damp easily in a humid environment like a bathroom, causing the ingredients to clump. And, the top, once torn, is larger than the opening to the rinse bottle. I'd suggest a longer, thinner packet.That said, it is considerably better priced than other brands with similar ingredients and it's effective if you ensure you keep the packets dry until use.

The manufacturer doesn't provide milligrams for any of the ingredients unlike Xlear. By the same token this seems to have MUCH less xylitol as compared to Xlear based on the taste and smell alone. This looks like it's mostly basic saline with an unknown amount of chitosan and a small amount of xylotol in it. Also, this is probably not as important but the packaging quality of the packets isn't great and unconvinced that the mixes are consistent from packet to packet. I'm going to use what I bought but I'll go back Xlear in the future.

I like that the product is consistent. I had a learning curve when first using this product. Be sure to read the directions and follow exactly. Do not use too much pressure as you will cause the solution to enter your Eustacean tube leading to your ears. Not a problem but uncomfortable until it drains. Rinse is excellent used in the shower. Note: I had much stinging on the first couple of uses. Why? The overuse of Oxymetazolinone products so inflamed my sinus. I do not use these products at all after using the ChitoRhino. It is much better for me and is a whole lot cheaper. As my sinus issues have improved, I find that I only need to wash my sinus about every day. Only takes a couple of minutes and I can breathe freely for 24 up to 48 ours — a great relief. I highly and empathically recommend you give this a try. ChitoRhino saved me from sinus surgery.

My ENT invented this rinse powder for people like me and thus he has changed my life. I used to get sinus headaches all the time from my chronic sphenoid sinus infection. Now I wash with this once a day and only get flair ups in the infection if I do something stupid like fly without using Afrin first. I can't use the bottle because I have arthritis in my thumbs, so I use the ChitoRhino rinse packets with a pulsing electric sinus washer. I ran out of the ChitoRhino when I was away from home and had to use the saline packets that come with the electric washer. Wow, what a difference in just a couple of weeks! Tried this after reading up on things that were good for your sinus’ . This had every ingredient mentioned in bunches of articles on the subject .I’ve had sinus surgery and was still having trouble with lots of infection and sinus headaches.I’ve been using this for 3 months every morning and night and it’s been much better for the most part . The Dr . I center said he hasn’t been sick since he started using this and I was hoping to stay well during allergy season . I still got sick so those claims are a little out there .

I have been doing sinus rinses for over 10 years. Personally, I did not find this to have any health benefit beyond a xylitol-salt blend. Furthermore, ChitoRhino does not disolve easily for me. It leaves a residue in my sinus irrigation machine, which is difficult to clean. Perhaps this works best in the squirt bottle also designed by ChitoRhino?

ChitoRhino was initially prescribed by an ENT doc as the delivery medium for a nasal polyp medication. Polyp was gone in a short time but I continued to use ChitoRhino by itself because I felt my sinuses were clearer and cleaner. The HUGE added benefit is that I have had nosebleeds 3x per week for several years due to excessively dry air. Saline spray and gel helped a little but not much. Since using ChitoRhino, I've had one small nosebleed IN THE LAST THREE MONTHS! I use it every other day and will never ever be without it.

I've been using these for years after having them prescribed with an antibiotic rinse. Yes, you can get saline packets from any pharmacy but inevitably they dry out the nose and skin, which results in irritability and cracking of skin. Currently out of stock as I am writing this too, which is a shame.
