A favorite
My daughter is reaching the age where she is a little bit old for this magazine. Yet she continues to request this magazine as a gift subscription from family each year for her birthday. She completely enjoys this magazine.IT is a high quality, well put together magazine. The art is lovely. The pictures are bright, appealing, and only adds to the text of the magazine. My daughter particularly likes the little bugs. They are funny and cute and have running little stories through out the magazine. Each month there is usually a game or a small craft in a pull out section of the magazine. These fascinate my daughter and we have played many of the games included in the magazines. Some of the same people appear in story to story each month such as a group of plucky young kids who have to learn to work together, solve problems and help others. There is no advertising so this is a great magazine for young readers.Enjoy.

child's magazine
This was a gift for one of my grand daughters and she really enjoys receiving it every month. Her parents told me that it's a nice surprise to get something just for her in the mail - especially during all the social distancing and quarantine.

Seven Year Old Likes it!
Purchased this magazine for my seven year old grandaughter so she would have some reading over the summer. First issue didn't arrive until late September, but she did like it. She showed me the magazine when I visited and personally I think she would have liked Hilights mag better. I think the stories and articles were a little too much science oriented for her taste. Not sorry I purchased, but probably will switch to Hilights next time around.

disappointed
What a DISAPPOINTMENT. I previously ordered "Ask" from the same company and am very pleased and have renewed that subscription. I wanted something else for another child. "Spider" looked like a good choice - WRONG. The first issue recently arrived. The first story had characters calling things stupid and dumb. The child I ordered it for asked if those weren't bad words. I tried to make light of it saying that it was calling things not people those words, and hoped that things improved. In the second story one charater completely controls another, having him do mean and dangerous things. At one point character one tells character two to go up to a man walking down the street and tell him "he's ugly as anything and his girlfriend looks like a flea". Character two does as told. We read no further and I cancelled the subscription. When telling the magazine that I was cancelling because it was inappropriate and a disappointment, I was never asked why. That led me to believe that they don't care and that there is no chance of improvement so I am writing here in hopes of helping someone else avoid my experience.
