Buy it:) please read my update.
I began my attempts at making friends with my local crow family after watching them take part in a massive effort with other local family groups to ward off a hawk by my house. This was in May of 2020, and I had been in lockdown long enough to begin noticing things in my environment that I had been missing for years. The spectacle was enthralling, and I have been the crazy crow lady ever since.I fully support anyone who wants to buy this fake crow to begin their crow journey, but ultimately, it didn't help me make friends with my local crows. They are very, very smart, and extremely cautious. This fake crow got them to stop and stare for a while up on a high perch, but they wouldn't eat the peanuts I put out in my front yard. They soon learn that it's not a real crow and they loose interest or possibly think it's a dead or sick crow. I guess it's worth it to simply watch that all unfold in your front yard. The way I actually made friends with them took a lot more action and patience on my part. I had to go on "crow walks" at the same time each day, find them (and learn their daily habits) and leave them peanuts on the sidewalk for weeks to begin to earn their "trust." I would look up at them perched on a power line, say "hi," throw down the nuts on the sidewalk, and leave. I didn't even stay around to watch them eat. They get spooked by people who notice them, and won't drop down to eat if you're around--its not like feeding ducks, so if that what you're hoping for, switch to almost any other bird. Crows are coy, and won't ever be the warm and fuzzy animal friend that you're longing for.It took months to get them to slowly but surely come to my house each day for their treats. They eventually did not even need me to stick to a routine. I couldn't keep it up in quite the same regularity when the schools finally reopened, and I went back to work. They figured out that if my car was in the drive, that I was home. They will now look through my windows and give their side eye stare, and I will simply get up and go out front and leave peanuts for them if I'm home. So, in the end, I was the one who got trained by them:) I have watched their new fledglings grow up, and now this new generation has lived their whole life coming to my house for nuts. I can tell a few of them apart by their personality or behavior now too.Whether you buy this decoy or not, you should definitely watch crows, because it is really worth your time. It got me through some dark days, and it still does.Update:I still hang out with this family of crows! This is now the fourth generation, and I can count on meeting their fledglings during the first week of June or so each year. They all have extremely different personalities, but their parents bring them to feed and learn how to eat shelled peanuts in my front yard. The American Crow was my "spark" bird, but I have come to love and watch all of the birds who I share this space with. Crows are by far my favorite though, and I even dress as "The Morrigan" each Halloween for my 6th graders, as a crow and Irish culture ambassador:)It did all begin with the purchase of this decoy Crow, and so, I gotta say--buy it! Your crows will notice it, and it will be worth it.

Perfect "crow" size!
I love crows and I have this one on my porch. It actually attracts smaller birds to my porch feeder. It is 100% crow size and shape not raven. Ravens are much bigger than 16". The mourning doves, chipping sparrows, bluebirds and chickadees are not bothered.Holding up nicely to the weather, too.

Realistic look, balance is a bit off
The crow appears very, very realistic. My only issue is that the balance is a bit off, and the crow very easily tips forward. You must weight it down. Otherwise, very happy.

Mr Crow guards the blueberries
Purchased this after the birds went under our nets over the blueberries stripping all the berries off. I put Mr Crow up on a thin piece of 2 x 4 ripped on the saw. The wood was flexible and wind would make Mr. Crow dance around. It has kept last years and this years blueberry yields up by dancing in the wind above our bushes. He has done an outstanding job.

Great crow
I built a sweet pea trellis, and needed a topper. A box and a crow! Looks great.

It’s definitely a raven
This thing is HUGE. It’s a raven not a crow lol. I still love it and it’s cute on my porch. Keeps the squirrels off my porch and making a mess so that’s a plus. I bought it for feeding my crows, and well they all went away because it’s raven size lol.

Not well made
Very cheaply made, to expensive for what it is. Good thing it will only be used once for a joke.
