Cuissential SlickMat - Non-stick Silicone Baking Mat; Baking Sheet Size (Pastry Mat, Baking Liner)

It's winter again and you all know what that means... OVEN TIME!A friend of mine had recently alerted me to the existence of these newfangled silicone thingies so I decided to give one a try. I've been roasting vegetables with mine (cauliflower, sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, etc.) and my Cuissential SlickMat has been working out great. The veggies turn out pretty much the same as if they'd been roasted on foil -- same cook time, same level of caramelisation. One nice plus is that the tasty caramelised bits don't stick to the cooking surface and I can just slide them on to my plate (and into my mouth, shyeah).Cleanup is easy with some warm soapy water. So far, no discolouring or any other visible change. I haven't used the SlickMat for baking desserts or roasting meat and can't say what the results would be. I plan to try, though.Very happy so far with my purchase. It's also nice to cut down on waste from using all that foil. Shyeah!+++UPDATE (26 Jan, 2012):I've been roasting a butt ton of veggies with the SlickMat and have noticed that it's starting to retain the odour of the last item cooked, despite a thorough wash with warm soapy water after each use. Not exactly a big problem at this point, but let's see how things go.+++UPDATE (11 Apr, 2012):The SlickMat is still working great, but I would definitely advise against using the same one for all your baking/roasting. So, one each for veg, meat, sweets, and so on. It's no big deal if the SlickMat smells of brussels sprouts if you're going to roast cauliflower or eggplant next, but it might not go so well if you were to put on a batch of cookies. Also, the mat has taken on a bit of colour from the roasting, that can't be removed even with repeated washing with warm soapy water. I'm not too worried, but know that it's something to expect.

I purchased the SlickMat and I'm very glad I did. The product is great and does exactly what it claims. I'm a huge fan. I was so tired of my husband ruining my baking sheets cooking dinner, this is a great way to save them.I did read some negative comments about the size of the SlckMat and it is small, it does not completely cover my baking sheet like I would like it to, but there is plenty of room for a dozen cookies or 4-5 chicken breasts. It's also a little wide for my baking sheets so it curls up a little but not a big deal.It is great as far as a non stick surface. Perfect. We did cook garlic bread on it one time and there is now like an outline of where the toast was that won't come off but does not affect the quality of the baking sheet.Great product, I would purchase again and I would suggest to a friend.

I don't know what took me so long to finally buy one of these. I started using it a week ago and I've probably used it a half dozen times. It's perfect. I'm not the best at paying attention when I'm cooking (ok I'm easily distracted) and I'm known to "overcook" food. (my kids like to call it "burnt". Whatever.) Not any more!! This distributes heat evenly and I have yet to even slightly overcook anything. I don't have to worry with tin foil or my every handy non-stick spray either. Nothing sticks to this mat! Not even hard cooked-on-at-425-degree cheese. As much as I cook this will pay for itself soon. It cleans like a breeze too. It was delivered quickly and has exceeded my expectations. Wonderful product.

I just opened Cuissential StickMat I ordered from Amazon. Taking it out of the plastic wrapper it comes in, I found it to be VERY STICKY and TACKY. I WILL NOT be using this mat. Yes, I know it must be washed before using. My husband, a top chemist in the nation for over 30 years, examined the mat and said, "If I were you, I would not use this. Just because it's FDA approved doesn't mean a lick sometimes. This mat seems like the silicone is breaking down. We don't want that in our food!"So, I am returning the mat to Amazon, and am returning to very inert, always reliable Parchment Paper!

First when it arrived the packaging was covered in grease (like the kind that can accumulate over your stove top) and I thought that it hadn't made it way to the product itself, but now I think I was wrong. I think that this was more of an issue with Amazon than with Cuissential, but either way. I opened the product I gave it a good washing then let it dry and it was sticky like something you tried to wash grease off of, but didn't quite get everything.So I washed and dried it again. Then I used it and it made my house smell awful! It also turned a dark brown color and had some brown gooey crap coming out of all of the sides. The packaging says it safe for use up to 450 and used it for cookies that were baked at 350.I don't trust that this product is safe.UPDATE: Yesterday I used it to knead pizza dough because these are supposed to work without having to add extra flour and it was useless. I might as well have just sued my counter. At least cleaning dough stuck to the counter is easier than cleaning dough off of this mat.

I have wanted one of these mats for at least a year and finally bought it with the excuse of making cookies for Christmas. My solid pinion is still out. It does prevent the cookies from sticking and works great in that respect. But, after the first use - making gingerbread cookies, snicker doodles, and then chocolate chip, my mat has turned a light brown where the cookies baked. This may be normal as I've never used one before. Other than that, I am happy with the purchase.

This is really a good baking mat with a good quality material. However, i'm not happy with its length size. It's probably my fault as i didn't look into details, but when it says, baking sheet mat size, i'm expecting a full sized one. It measures 15 inch and my pan is 16 inch. I thought that this is the standard size of this type of baking mats, but when i searched again on amazon for mats with the same price range, i found they are 16 inch and sometimes 16.5! This is really important to me as i bake cookies all the time and have big baking mat for this very reason. The size of this mat prevents me from baking more cookies :(

This mat is brilliant for my bread making, the dough doesn't stick and it keeps my worktop clean. I would have preferred it to be a bit bigger.

Genau das was ich benötigt habe. Die Silikonmatte ist mit Glasfaser verstärkt und leicht zu reinigen. Ideal für meine Brotbackaktionen. Die Größe passt genau zu meinem kleinen Backblech.

One of most used items in my kitchen. I often use my oven for baking meat, veg and cakes. Now i only use baking sheets for cake tins, so this mat payed for itself in couple of months. It's also verry good for icing or choc decor because they are so easy to take off. After use I put the mat in sink and wash it with little detergent. The only con is that however i wash it, in time it became a bit brownish on the lower side, I guess it's from meat juices. Maybe it's time to buy a new one for pastry and keep old one for savory meals.
