Thermofocus Non-Contact Thermometer with Memory, Take Temperature Without Touching The Skin, Forehead, Navel or Armpit

When I saw my pediatrician use this in his office, I actually ordered it on amazon right there on the spot from my phone so I made sure I got the exact same one. I absolutely love this thermometer and my husband and I agree it is the best purchase we have made for our kids so far! Well worth the money. Non invasive, quiet and will not wake a sleeping kid in the middle of the night for temp checks. Soooo easy to use and I find it to be extremely accurate. Quick too! I don't know how I lived without this thing for three years but I am sure glad I have it now that we have two kiddies!!!

I purchased this because of the great reviews it received. It is absolutely inaccurate. I took it with me to the doctor's office, after I compared it repeatedly with my Exergen Temporal. The Exergen would tell me my temperature was 99.2 (repeatedly) while this one told me 97.2. I read and followed the instructions to the letter and everything I tried told me a different temp than what it was. At the doctor's office, same thing - with the doctor's thermometer, and my exergen temporal, my child's fever was 100.2, with this one, 99.1. Worthless, especially since this cannot be returned.In addition to this, have you ever tried to take the temp of a squirming child? I had to hold my child's head so the darn thing would show me the one point of light, then, still hold him so it would show me the temp. Not good for children unless they can stand still, follow directions and not move.The one star is for the product, not the fact that I cannot return it.

I bought this thermometer two years ago after my first child was born and it is the best buy I've made for my child. This is the first item I tell my newly pregnant friends to buy. After wasting money on forehead and under the arm thermometers, I thankfully stumbled upon this one. Now, when my son gets a fever, usually in the middle of he night, I can quietly check his temp without disturbing his sleep. Try that with any other thermometer!Plus I've found that after 2 years its still incredibly accurate. Another reviewer pointed out how the temp she received from the thermofocus didn't match what another professional grade thermometer read from a different part of the body. The body registers temperatures differently from different parts of the body. Plus some people's forehead temp runs lower than 98.6. Between 97 and 99 is normal. Take each family member's well temp and document it. Then you will know if that fluctuates, the person may have a fever. For instance, my daughter and I register 97.2 on a regular basis. So I add a degree to every temp reading I get for us. But my husband is 98.6 for his normal temp so I don't adjust his temp readings.What i would consider a basis for inaccuracy would be large fluctuations in back to back readings, which doesn't happen with the thermofocus. This thermometer is dead on each time.My only con for this product would be that it has no backlight on the screen. That would be tremendously helpful for those night readings.

Tried several times but wasn't able to get one single reading that would match the regular thermometer. Don't buy it.

GREAT for assessing my junior practice members - chiropractic - for fast temperature differentials along their spinal column. Adults too!
