Q: Is their actual metal in the thread? can i get an mri if this thread is wrapped in my hair?

ITS not real metal, metalic . I use it for sewing, but never thought abt putting it in my hAIR. Try in on a small piece of your hair and see what happens.

Q: Can I iron over this? I want to iron a stablizer over the back of the embroidery to keep my knots safe in the washing machine.

You can iron on the backside of application. Or you can use parchment paper on the actual thread.

Q: How would this work to tie a quilt?

I would suggest trying to get a single skein and trying it out. It is fairly stiff, but I’ve never worked with producing a quilt so I’m not sure if this would be a good application.

Q: Weavers: would this be good for tablet woven brocade (reproduction Birka bands)?
