Fabulous Teaching Read-aloud
I teach 1st and 2nd grades and this entire series of "If You Were..." books is AMAZING! Having quality read-aloud books that align with my standards is such a gift. Trisha Speed Shaskan is one of my all-time favorite authors!

Awesomely, Amazing Alliteration
This book is child friendly and helps to explain the meaning of the word. Its creative use of alliteration creates a desire to use it in writing.

Exciting to read out loud and great illustrations make it fun to learn about alliteration
This does an excellent job of explaining and demonstrating alliteration. My first grader and I read it together. I really like how the "If You Were..." books put the reader in the story and connect him/her to alliteration, onomatopoeia, etc. "If you were alliteration, you could create tongue twisters. If you were alliteration, you could be a poem." We had a great time doing the activity at the end of the book - making acrostic poems using alliteration and our names. The "To Learn More" resources in the back are useful to continue the learning.
