Does not trap beneficial honey bees Add one inch of soda pop (Mountain Dew recommended because of it's yellowish color) and five drops of dish washing liquid... these nuisance insects are goners. Trap can be painted or stained any color you wish (Wasps, hornets, and yellow jackets and other flying insects are very attracted to the color yellow). The dish soap coats their wings and they cannot fly out. When catch jar is full, simply unscrew the jar and empty out the dead insects. Another great alternative attractant, add 1 cup of sweetened water (sugar only), one cup of apple cider vinegar, a drop of mild dish soap, and some raw meat (hornets love raw meat especially in early spring).
