ELEKTRA BY FRANK MILLER OMNIBUS [NEW PRINTING]
N**M
Consider this the "essential" Elektra
When Frank Miller took over as the writer/artist on Daredevil, he revolutionized the character (and would continue to do so when he would return with the "Born Again" storyline and the "Man Without Fear" mini-series, both can be found in the Daredevil by Frank Miller Companion Omnibus), as well as doing something else. He created one of, if not the, most important supporting characters Daredevil would ever have in his lost love Elektra, who would go on to meet a tragic demise at the hands of the insane assassin Bullseye. However, a little thing like death wouldn't be enough to keep Elektra in the ground forever, as you can see in the Elektra by Frank Miller & Bill Sienkiewicz Omnibus, which collects the duo's "Elektra: Assassin" mini-series, Miller's "Elektra Lives Again" graphic novel, an issue of "What If?", and a rare tale by Miller from "Bizarre Adventures". The "Elektra: Assassin" mini is just something so weird you'll have to read it to believe it, with the amazing art of Sienkiewicz being the main highlight. The "What If?" and "Bizarre Adventures" issues are interesting, but the real gem here is "Elektra Lives Again". Written and drawn by Miller, the tale focuses on the still grieving Matt "Daredevil" Murdock, trying to put to rest the memory of his lost love, which is made all the harder based on the fact that Elektra just won't stay dead. There are obvious pre-cursors to Miller's Sin City (tell me that the injured and bandaged Matt doesn't look just like Marv), but that doesn't detract from how poignant and riveting the story itself is. The only real downside of this Elektra Omnibus is that Marvel's cover price is way too much in my opinion for what is featured here, but if you can find it at a discounted price, it's definitely worth picking up, especially if you're a Miller fan. All in all, the Elektra Omnibus is a more than worthwhile trip, and is worth checking out for "Elektra Lives Again" alone.

Frank and Bill's bizarre collaboration as Garrett fumbles along behind Elektra taking on the Beast.
Bought this mini-series in 1986 at the tail-end of my comic collecting period and have always had a soft spot in my heart for it and the clownish but capable Garrett. The psychopathic cyborg Perry is also one of my favorite villains. The manic story exploded onto the pages with art by Bill Sienkiewicz unlike any that I had seen before. I had a few TPBs in the ensuing years to re-visit until I got this second printing of the Elektra Omnibus. This collection also includes Elektra Lives Again which I had never read somehow, a beautiful but so somber contemplation on Matt's loss of his dark love. Great storytelling and art; highly recommended.

Frank Miller Bookends
There is Frank Miller art at the beginning and the end, and there's a significant amount of it. The middle section, which is probably more than half is Bill Sienkiewicz. The art is very different. The writing is consistent. It's an interesting book. Though I like other Frank Miller books more.

Cool. The artwork is very very different than Miller's ...
Cool. The artwork is very very different than Miller's other work, a retro sketchy feel instead of polished noir. Story is good so far, not too simple. Overall it is a beautiful edition worthy of collecting.

Elektra Assassin
Elektra Assassin blew my mind what a comic could do and be then I first read it. It got lost during moving so have been missing it so to FINALLY get it and this Omnibus ... well yes it`s perhaps a bit pricy if you count pages and other omnibus editions but for me I just had to have this but this is a MUST have for me and recommend it to anyone who hasnt seen and read it.

Over priced
I gotta say, that i actually liked how the book was bound and put together. I enjoyed the stories, though its not really a book about elektra, i mean she hardly says many things, but the stories are more about the people around the events of the killings she makes, if that makes sense. Some of it can be a little confusing at times, just cause your trying to figure out what the hell is happening, and of course you have some ridiculous plot points, but just kinda have to go with it and enjoy the ride.I was glad i preorderd the book when it was going to be 50 bucks, so i only got it for 31. But the 75 buck price tag is just shameful, it has nothing special in my view other than a fancy cover, that could justify the leap in price. I love some of the omnibuses they have put out, but i hope marvel doesn't get greedy and mark everything that collects more than 10 issues omnibus and try to increase the price on it.I'd only recommend this book if you can get it at 40-50% off :D
