Not For The Working Musician
The media could not be loaded. Every time I touch this thing I say "this is the worst stand ever."The best feature of this thing is the set of spring-loaded arms that help keep music flat on the stand or resist a light breeze. The atrocious drawback (disguised as a feature) is its "portability." The music tray is secured to the stand via a single screw/bolt that is designed to apply pressure to hold it tight in its housing. The bolt can never be tightened enough and thus the top of the stand comes off or falls off constantly when you are trying to move the stand on stage or transport it from, say, your vehicle into the performance venue. It's not very reassuring when you need to make a snap adjustment during a gig and there are two iPads on the stand ready to fall to the ground once your hulk-like strength rips the top of the stand off. It's not heavy duty enough for a working pro's needs and I would advise you to continue the search if that's your situation.

A buy again for me....that good.
I've been in the music business for 52 years and I've used all kinds of stands, some good, some not. This one is perfect and I'm using huge compilations of sheet music in 4" binders. This stand is handling that with no problem. For the dummy who's trying to move a music stand by the top and pulling the thing apart....duh. Hold it by the rod to move it. I've never in all the time I've been playing ever grabbed the top of a stand where the music sits and expected it to stay together. Also somebody complained about the screw in to hold the music part of the stand. I'm having no issue with that whatsoever. Should I need another stand, this is the one. The fact that it adjusts past 45" is a real plus for me. I find this to be sturdy, easy to disassemble and light weight to carry. A win, win purchase for me.

Not just a music stand
This is a sturdy music stand. It adjusts enough in height to work for the seated adult musician as well as standing. The depth of the ledge makes this a multi-purpose stand for us. It not only works well to hold marching band music in a flip chart but also securely hold our iPad when we are Facetiming with our grandson. We can adjust the angle to give him the best view of us and we can spend our time chatting with him rather than holding the iPad. We are very happy with this music stand.

Not super premium, but lots better than the really cheap ones.
Overall this product does the job quite well. It looks nice and stands firmly. The little handle on the main stem that is flipped up or down to adjust the height of the stand is not as convenient to use if you were holding an instrument in your hand. More premium stands do not use a channel. But it’s not a showstopper. Warning: do not try to adjust the height with one hand on the handle. Once you release at the part of the stand that holds the music may come down hard on your fingers as it did mine the first time. Ouch! Secondarily the little arms that support the legs are a little flimsy. I bent them accidentally when trying to figure out how to adjust the feet when I was setting it up for the first time. Other than that, it’s a good deal. I recommended for the money.

Decent but not great
This is a pretty sturdy stand, but not as solid as I had hoped. The top has some flex when you put a couple heavy books on it, and the surface isn't as large as I thought it would be. The adjustments, especially the height and tilt for the top are very well made. My last stand broke where the stand slid into a bracket to hold the top. The construction of this stand looks like it will prevent that. Overall, for home use it's a good deal.

Although the package appeared damaged from Fed Ex.. The product was okay in the carton. It is well built except for the parts that hold the music sheets in place. A little cheaply produced but I can probably figure out something else to use to hold sheet music better. It is great for anyone who desires to place a music book on it. Its overall review.. not bad. Just wish the page holders for the sheet music were produced differently. I can not see them lasting with someone that uses it continuously.

Love it! My daughter plays the cello and had the little metal stand for a few years. She has finally outgrown that. This stand is wonderful because you can adjust the height and also the tilt. The tray is thick enough that she can put her entire music binder on it where before she had to take each piece of music out individually. The springs that hold the pages down are amazing! Super strong. We are very pleased. My son will be starting band next year and I plan to get one for him as well.

meh
desk part is thinner metal than expected . . . that thin-ness + the fact that the bracket for the desk is positioned so low (instead of more spread out or more centered on the back of the desk) means that the desk does not easily stay horizontal when wanting to use it as a conductor's stand or as a speaker's podium . . . I'll give this one to my wife the flautist but i will have to get a better one . . . do like the wire music holders
