Heat & Air
Well, I waited until the unit was installed and running. I installed this unit in our cabin cruiser, the cabin was already plumed for heat & air from the factory. I placed it in a suitable place, ran the tubing, placed an exaust out the side of the vessel, ran our air vents, wired it for 120v and 12v.One thing you will need is a pump that will suck the water up into the unit, it should to be placed below the water line, make sure it's a good one, you want it to run quite. You can place it under your couch or back in the engine compartment. Make it accessible so you can get to your turn off valves.I turned on the unit, it started sucking the water up though the hull, into the unit and out the side. It started cooling down quite rapidly, check out the wall unit and the remote, they worked like a charm.I placed a 2000/4000 inverter next to the heat/cool unit, clicked it over to 12v, and thats what happen, nothing. The inverter was not large enough to run the unit. I will be replacing the inverter with a larger one.All an all the unit runs quite, get very cold or hot depending on your setting, turns on and off just like a good clock. Glad we had it last summer and will be glad we have it for this summer.

Love it!
I installed this unit on my 2003 Chaparral 215 SSI cuddy cabin. I live in Florida and it's a must have. I purchased the whole kit from Marinaire. AC unit, water pump, inverter, fittings, throughulls, etc. The only things I had to purchase was marine rated water line, clamps, and marine rated 120v power wire. Installed the system in a few hours with basic tools in the cuddy. I had a custom RV shop do the cosmetic finishing. On a 100* Florida day, it keeps the cabin any temp I set it at within minutes. On cold winter nights it keeps it nice and warm. It runs off a battery bank consisting of two 240aH 6v batteries. On average I get no less than 8 hours of operation. I have an onboard 20a charger and also it's setup with an isolator system to charge when the engine is running. When you're on shorepower it's of course unlimited. If you want A/C on your boat, I've done my research.. this is the one to get!

Restocking Fee!!!
The unit works OK but i feel there are better alternatives out there. Look at those before purchasing this one from MarinAire. Also be CAREFUL! You will be charged a 30% restocking fee if you need to return it.12/14/16 - They No longer all it a restocking fee....Now they call it a "Refurbishment Charge"

Marine Aire vs Marine Air (note the extra "e" at the end of the name) is just poor quality.
This Chinese imitation, Marine Aire vs Marine Air (note the extra "e" at the end of the name) is just poor quality.
