Very cool tech just maybe not quite ready for prime time
In my quest to disconnect from cable, I got the Remix. I'll give it four stars but, for many, it may not be ready for prime time. When I attached it to our older model Emerson/DVD TV, it gave a message that the screen resolution was not compatible. Sigh. So I first tried changing rez on the TV then back to Remix but no joy. Then I plugged the Remix into my monitor, changed the resolution on the Remix then immediately plugged back into the TV. Success. If it's used occasionally, it'll hold that setting in memory. I was gone for 5 days and had to repeat the process. The good news is it's tiny and a fully functioning Android OS computer and with all the apps available. It streams Netflix and Amazon great. Unfortunately, it's hit or miss with network TV streaming apps (e.g. ABC, NBC). I suspect the problem is with the apps and networks, not the remix. Netflix and Amazon have perfected streaming to all manner of devices and bandwidth. I suspect the networks aren't doing so effectively for those of us who don't have super fast bandwidth. We get about 5.5 - 6 Mbps. Netflix did ok down to about 2 Mbps.I also got a Rii mini wireless to go with it. I've never liked touch pads and, though it works semi-OK, I'm happier with a wired mouse plugged directly into the Remix with the keyboard as input (though Android has an onscreen keyboard you can use).So the device works great and as advertised. The price is excellent. I think it's not quite ready for a non-techie to use and, though you could definitely disconnect your cable company and use this for almost all TV streaming, it would be kind of kludgy still. The problem is not having as smooth a channel changing interface -- you have to open a dedicated app for each streaming service vs., with cable, just changing the channel. Another year and I"m hopeful the networks will realize they've got to do a better job of streaming their shows for a wider range of devices and bandwidth.

Replaces my PC for everything
I have tried a few Android sticks and they all left me wanting something more. I love Android and the simplicity of how everything just works and is intuitive but some of this skins that companies add to make it work on a TV are a major let down. The Remix however is a delight to use. I have it plugged in to a large computer monitor with a HDMI to vga adapter and a kvm switch so I can have a PC and the Remix running at the same time and switch between them. I find that I spend more time on the Remix and Android than I do on the PC.The Remix runs all my favorite programs and is fast for what I do. I have not tried to do any gaming but email, web surfing, movies, weather, maps, music etc work great. So far I have not found any programs that failed to work. The user interface does not get in the way of Android. The lack of touch, and pinch and zoom by fingers on the screen are easily replaced by the mouse. It is easy to switch between programs and have several running at the same time. This is the way a PC should work.

I wanna be honest here, the pros is that it actually is the first good Android PC with a fair speed for the affordable price (very affordable) and I like that the resolution goes high to 1920x1080 60Hz. Now the cons is that it lags a bit much, makes me think that it may not have 2GB of ram but at least I can access apps. Now for those who want to install music apps such as Play Music or Pandora, your not gonna have a good time jamming to it. I have my Ethernet cable connected to the device and Play Music wouldn't work well at all. Also the storage, I wish there could be an option to move the apps to the SD Card, but really there's no option for that :( But I gotta say at least it works with most apps and I give huge props for making an Android PC possible for everyone to have in their home office :)

Love it! But...
I absolutely love this device! I'm using a small keyboard/mouse combo as my keyboard and it's running fairly well thus far. A few issues though: 1. Amazon music isn't running properly in that if I put a song on repeat, it won't repeat the song but replay beginning of song as if it were a scratched record. Also, in same application it will play popping noises and also play in very low volume.2. There is an indicator light on the front of the device that stay on.3. Device won't turn off! If I turn off the device it will restart. The only other thing I can do is put the device to sleep.4. Customer Service is ok but not very helpful. Ok in that they respond within a day or so, not very helpful in that they take a very long time to followup on tech issues.

Purchased this to use as the brains of a equipment video monitoring system utilizing 2 IP Cameras. The odd mix of desktop interface/Android apps takes some getting use to but in the end it works great. Used a Rii i8 Keyboard Rii i8+ Mini Wireless 2.4G Backlight Touchpad Keyboard with Mouse for PC/Mac/Android, Gold (MWK08+) and a couple of DLink Camera's, D-Link Wireless Day/Night microSD Network Surveillance Camera with mydlink-Enabled (DCS-942L) and used IP Camera Pro IP Cam Viewer Full to run a split screen view on a 22" monitor. I like the fact that this unit has 2 USB ports and an RJ45 port.Interestingly the images from the camera's running through the Remix are smoother and clearer than the video from the same DLink camera on the Intel Compute Stick we use on another system. If the Remix system continues to perform we will be purchasing more units.

A REAL Computer for $35
I ordered this expecting a Raspberry Pi in a nice case.I hoped that it might be better ... maybe even a Chromebox. In reality, it is better than all that! This is a $35 Chromebox equivalent with a well done Windows 10 like interface.NICE, it makes a good little desktop for those who mostly use their browser.BTW, it runs online Microsoft apps very well too.

More app freindly
I have 2 of these as well as other Android TV boxes. The remix mini is by far more apps compatible than others.
