The Troubadour Fool
I am almost at a loss for words. Though Gislebert (the supposed hero) did redeem himself at the end!, he was hard for me to like. The most immature character immaginable. I loved Adele (Jonas) from the beginning. As I said, he did redeem himself, but he did not deserve Adele. I felt his simpering over Nadine for most of the novel was just too much. With that said, this is a good book and surely worth reading. As always for me, with this author there is too much brutality and too many rats, snakes and dead bodies, but I will continue to read this author. Nuf said!

A very different kind of Love Story. Loved the characters and the unexpected turns and mystery foreshadowing. Hope for anyone who has misjudged character and taken a wrong turn in life. Hang in there and the wrongs are redeemed finally!

Songs, Swords and Survival
This is an unusual third book of the series, but it keeps one's attention.

Great read!!
I really wanted to read another book about Afton and Calhoun, but reluctantly started this one. I was soon immersed in the new characters and didn't want to stop reading. So glad I read this!

Five stars for fun.
I really enjoyed the story, which moved along and kept my interest without lagging. A fun sense of humor in the story also. Not heavy or wordy just simple and entertaining, a great diversion and an easy read, just what I needed going through a stressful time. Thanks. Five stars for fun.

Another compelling read
I just wish the climax wasn't quite so short and so close to the end. All rather rushed to a close.

A love story
A historical novel dating back to the Middle Ages. A young troubador sets off on a journey fraught with successes and failures to find and marry a servant girl whom he had seen briefly many years before. The plot is pedictable but there are enough twists and turns in the plot to keep it interesting. The language is "clean"- no swearing, no inappropriate violent behaviour and no sex scenes.
