Fast Cutting, Perfect size, No mess...highly recommended.
I used this to install a number of 4-inch recessed cans for LED light modules in my kitchen ceiling. Perfect size for my "Remodel cans" and took only seconds to cut thru the ceiling drywall. It left a very clean hole, perfect for the can installation. I used the saw in conjunction with the Dewalt DW1803Heavy Duty 7/16-Inch Shank arbor and the Morris Products 13500 Drillers Dust Bowl. Worked like a champ with my Li-ion battery powered 3/8" drill.Fast operation, Perfect size, No mess...highly recommended.

"A MUST HAVE"
I purchased the HP1192 4-/3/8" carbide grit hole saw 5 years ago. Made hundreds of clean holes quickly in slath plaster and sheetrock ceilings with ease. Just purchased another one of these great hole saws. Perfect for 4" spotlights. The customer service at the whole cutter store is impeccable. They stand behind they're products and keep they're customers happy. I would definitely recommend this product!

but these hole-saws are perfect for lath and plaster installs
Yeah, it's expensive, but these hole-saws are perfect for lath and plaster installs. I bought this after cheaping out and cutting a few holes by hand. That was an absolute mistake. After that experience I'm so glad I bought this thing. The holes it makes are perfectly sized for 4" recessed lights, and this thing will chew through ceiling plaster like nobody's business. I've cut through a few 100 year old nails and this hole-saw still has many uses left.I did buy a similarly sized traditional Milwaukee bi-metal hole-saw which I used for cutting through thick wood. I didn't want to totally use this up chewing through wood. I can run that hole-saw backwards on lath/plaster but it still doesn't make cuts as clean as this hole saw.Soon I'll be using this on a plaster ceiling with metal mesh and I have no doubts that this hole saw will do a great job.

Pay attention to keeping drill steady
Works quickly but will wander off center, I fashioned a collector out of a plastic deli container to catch the abundant dust it produces. Makes can installation a breeze

Great product and great costumer service
The hole saw works great on lathe and plaster, drywall and stucco. It does it all. I had a weird situation where my adapter bit popped off and the hole saw bottomed out on the threads, causing the threads to cross thread after the first use. I contacted the seller and they immediately sent me a replacement without any additional cost. Great costumer service!

Perfect size for most small recessed LED lighting
Used this for installing recessed LEDs in a new Hardie Board (concrete composite) soffit. Use a slow speed, don't try to hurry it by applying too much pressure, it cuts quite well as it is. It helps to "rock" the blade slightly around the perimeter as you cut, and ease up when you feel it start to break through... and WEAR A MASK! This makes a lot of silica dust when cutting through concrete.

Great for old plaster & lath ceilings
I needed a hole saw to install recessed LED lighting in my very old house. Old plaster and lath can be very brittle and cracks very easily. I used this abrasive hole saw to get through the mortar layer then I switched to a regular hole saw for the lath layer. *Note: you must take it slowly and hold on tight it likes to grab.I also used a bowl around my drill to catch the debris and be sure to tape the surrounding area with painters tape to help prevent chipping around the hole.Great product!
