DOES NOT fit RainBird 1/2" supply line
DOES NOT fit RainBird 1/2" supply line. The max OD is within 100th of an inch so I find it hard to believe its accurate. The compression nut that you tighten over the supply line wouldn't budge as others stated but I bought them anyways. I ended up buying Mister Landscape hose adapters from Lowes and they were cheaper ~$3 each.

Fits Rain Bird ½" just fine; not sure why some have problems!
To be exact, Rain Bird ET63918 is the ½" emitter tubing that the big box stores in my area are carrying, and this adapter fits that just fine. I was really glad to find this, because this is the exact part that Rain Bird used to include in its Faucet Connector Kit (Rain Bird FCKIT; Amazon product number B000FJYT1C). You'll see this part in photos on Amazon's page for the FCKIT. However, Rain Bird now uses a different faucet/hose-to-tubing adapter in the FCKIT. The photo on Rain Bird's FCKIT packaging still shows the old part, the one that is being sold here, but the part inside the package is a different part. The critical thing is that the tubing end of the new FCKIT part is slightly larger in diameter than the old part, and therefore it is very difficult to insert into Rain Bird's ½" tubing. Both salespeople at the stores and Rain Bird's customer service people are telling customers to heat up the tubing so they can force it over the new adapter. That is absolutely dumb. I've written to Rain Bird imploring them to go back to using the original adapter in the FCKIT. In the meantime, I am glad I found this source for the original adapter, which I substitute for the dumb part that now comes with the FCKIT.By the way, the adapter that Rain Bird is now including in the FCKIT looks exactly like Amazon product no. (ASIN) B01986FARO, though I haven't had the opportunity to do a side-by-side comparison.

Can't seem to get it to connect...
Maybe I'm missing something but I have brand-new Rainbird 1/2-inch hose, I slip it over the barb but when I try to tighten the collar that locks it in place, it won't catch. It's almost as though the hose (which is flush to the stop) is somehow blocking the threaded collar from catching. Of course, without the collar tightly attached it leaks like a sieve at low pressure and is likely to blow off at high pressure. No directions, but it seems so obvious that I wouldn't expect any.

Surprisingly easy to install
These fittings work great, especially if you follow the instructions (which, ahem, I didn't at first). Just spin the threaded barrel all the way up the fitting shaft, insert your 1/2-inch tubing and then rotate the barrel back down to tighten. Obviously the instructions describe this, but it bears repeating because so many similar products require a barrel or tube to be placed on the tube or wire first, then cammed into place afterward. Here, it's as silly-simple as it gets.No leaks, went well on first use.
