High quality, soluble fibre supplement to help promote a healthy gut
This natural fibre supplement comes in a white cardboard cylinder with a foil seal and a red plastic lid that fits well. The powder is white and pretty much tasteless which dissolves very quickly into drinks, and you can also mix it into food without it changing the flavour. It is gluten and lactose-free and plant-based. It is made up of primarily acacia gum powder (80%) with added calcium (37.5% NRV), and Vitamin C (100%NRV) at the recommended daily intake of 12g per day, which is 2 heaped tablespoons. It’s becoming increasingly apparent that our gut biome is hugely important for our immune systems to function optimally, and our general health and well-being. Eating a widely varied diet with many different plant types including soluble fibres and polyphenols is really important as the good bacteria feed on these and according to the Zoe Study from King’s College, ‘If you build it, they will come.’ You provide the range of food they need, and your guts can become repopulated with diverse species that we need for optimum health. This Acazen natural fibre supplement is an excellent way of adding more ‘biome food’ to your diet. At the current Prime price of £39.99 for 360g, this works out at £1.33 per day at the recommended intake, so it’s not exactly cheap but is it convenient and high quality so yes, I recommend it!

Good fibre supplement
A great supplement to help gut health and also support immunity with the addition of vitamins C&D.It’s consistency is between granulated and fine sugar. I tried it in water, a bit of a stir needed to dissolve it but it was absolutely tasteless which is great, I then added it to porridge, made no difference to texture or taste, then tried yogurt and fruit, same there. I often find when additives are said to be tasteless they seem to leave an after taste so this was great.Gut wise I found it did help as a fibre supplement and reduced any wind pains.A good product but on the costly side for a months supply.

Is this really worth taking? lets find out...
I have been taking this supplement regularly for the last few weeks, particularly when I had belly cramps or trapped gas. With some context, I am usually very prone to indigestion and find digesting some food incredibly difficult which sometimes creates a barrier in my lifestyle and my love for food.Thankfully, this powdered supplement by ACAZEN has solved my problems. I love that this supplement is so easy and versatile to take. I found that mixing into my morning juice didn't effect its taste in any way and still provided the benefits. The same could be said about integrating this powder into your foods. I've mixed the recommended dosage (1 tsp) with my morning porridge several times and found it mixed well with no powdery chunks and also didn't interfere with flavour nor texture of the food.Overall, I have given this 4 stars. My one concern is the price tag and £40, despite being effective, I feel is pushing it a little in price. I personally think its worth closer to £30. Regardless, still worth trying! :)Thank you for reading my honest review, i hope you found it helpful! :)

It works! Extra fibre with added vitamins.
The media could not be loaded. Firstly please note dilute the powder in WARM water not cold as it doesn’t dissolve fully in cold.I found the dissolved powder really easy to drink - there is a taste but it’s not overpowering. The added fibre was noticeable within a couple of days! The price is a tad on the expensive side but as it was gentle on my tummy I wouldn’t mind paying the recommended price.I’m happy to recommend and give five stars.I hope you find my review helpful😊

Prefer the version without calcium
For the past 4 years I’ve had major problems with indigestion, causing trapped gas and hence bloating. I identified a problem with FODMAP foods, and have therefore had a bit of trouble eating enough veg as so much of it is high FODMAP. Until I had this I had never had a fibre supplement that didn’t make me bloated and uncomfortable. This is completely different! I can comfortably take the recommended daily dose and feel good. No bloating or digestive distress. This version with calcium and vitamin C isn’t as easy to incorporate into my daily food since I would usually choose to dissolve it into my morning porridge, but can’t because the calcium would block absorption of my morning thyroid dose.I now take this in the evening in water or a cold drink. It doesn’t add any flavour or texture and dissolves well even in cold drinks, with a bit of stirring. If anything, I’d say it might have aided my digestion. This is completely viable since there are scientific studies showing acacia gum powder can increase bifidobacteria (good gut bacteria).I’m very impressed and would consider buying this brand again, especially if I was struggling to find enough suitably fibre rich foods to comfortably incorporate into my daily diet. The only caveat is to say I prefer the version without calcium and vitamin C. The additional calcium is unnecessary for me and leaves me with mild muscle cramps in my legs (my personal sign that I need more magnesium). So I have to increase my magnesium supplementation when taking this version. The Vitamin C is fine but not needed for me as I take it separately. The fibre-only version of Acazen is also a few pounds cheaper, so win-win!It’s easy to add to food or drink, you just sprinkle it in straight from the tub. I usually measure it by putting my drink on my kitchen scales, but it’s just as easy using a teaspoon. It would be especially helpful to anyone with a limited diet, or who struggles to eat enough. E.g. elderly relatives, people eating lots of protein but not enough veg. Obviously the first option would be to add in lots of fruit & veg but this is a great alternative if you can’t or won’t do that.
