Works like a charm to get nuts and acorns out of our dog exercise area
This is my husband's favorite gadget for picking up all the acorns and pig nut hickory nuts from our large dog exercise area. You can pick up a five gallon bucket of nuts in a very short time. It works like a charm and I imagine he'll have many more years of nut picking from the Nut Weasel. It also saves the squirrels from getting attacked by the dog when they come in to get the nuts. The squirrels can enjoy their nuts outside the kennel area and the deer snack on them too. Win Win

Easily picks up sweet gum balls, but emptying it is a pain!
Works as advertised for picking up sweet gum balls. Holds a large number of them, so you don't have to empty it often. But when you do have to empty it, you have to pry the wires apart with your fingers, reach in, and pull them out of the tool a handful at a time. I really wish it came apart so I could empty the tool just by turning it over a trashcan. But, with a pair of gloves and patience, this beats picking up sweet gum balls by a lot. Build quality is very good, too. Though... you might want to consider getting a Stab-a-Nut instead. I own both, and while this is more durable and picks things up better, the Stab-a-Nut is just so much easier to unload.

My secret weapon for acorns
Moved to a new property that has 3 massive oak trees and we were unprepared for combined total of acorns they dropped each year. I was originally raking them into piles and shoveling them into lawn bags, but that process was tedious and the bags would get deceptively heavy fast. It wasn't long before I began to loathe acorn pickup duty. I got to the point where I was gonna go at it with a shop vac but figured I'd preferably not disturb the peaceful neighborhood ambience, with a mixture of "Vrrrrrr~Shuunk~Shunk~Shuunk" interspersed with my grumbling.Luckily, I found this tool that makes the task much more tolerable (pleasant even). I'm now able to quickly walk a section of the lawn until the cage gets full and then separate the tines over a spare 5 gallon bucket before moving on to the next section. Makes quick work of the process without having to go back over the same areas multiple times with a rake. Now, you'll want to get to the acorns before they've been broken up by foot traffic or squirrels because partial acorns may not be big enough to pop through and stay in the tines. Overall great tool that I'm happy to add to my lawn keeping arsenal for the sake of my back and my tinnitus.

Great for picking up HICKORY NUTS!
I have over 10 hickory trees. Hurricane Helene dumped all the nuts at once in September. I used the Nut Gatherer to collect over 30 gallons of nuts; it works wonderfully. In the areas with lots of nuts it would fill up with about a gallon in less than a minute. The Nut Gatherer has very little plastic so it should last a long time. It worked so well that I gave one to my uncle for his pecan trees.

Works Great!!!!
We were apprehensive about buying it because of some of the reviews. However, this product works great. We are in our 60's and this product saves our backs from picking up tons of Walnuts and Acorns. We ordered a medium and works perfectly and picks up both without a problem. Emptying the catchers is a breeze, just separate the spines and shake. Can't get any easier. It is sturdy and doesn't take a lot of pressure to roll and collect!!!.

Works wonderfully
This is the husband review.I was pretty skeptical of this, but I'm very impressed with how well and how many nuts it picked up. These are hickory nuts and if you don't get to them soon enough, it breaks the outter husk away but still picks up most of itSize - could use a little longer handlePerformance - excellentAppearance - it is what it isValue - very good, I hate raking them upWeight - lightCon - handle needs to be telescoping for those who are taller, but this works for me.
