How do I set the chronograph so that 60-second counter moves alone constantly without 1/10 counter (like in the showcase clip)? Is it possible?

You must wait 60 seconds after starting the pusher at the 2:00 position. The 1/10 counter will then stop spinning after 60 seconds. This is normal for many chronographs-some models have 1/10 counters which stop after 30 seconds. So: 1) click pusher at the 2:00 position. The big seconds hand and the small chronograph seconds will tick. The 1/10 counter will spin wildly. 2) wait 60 seconds. Both big and small seconds hands will continue to tick, but the 1/10 counter will stop.

I never use the big seconds hand on a quartz chronograph-the more things you have moving, the quicker the battery drains. Also, never use the pusher at the 4:00 position (which resets everything) if you have the big seconds hand ticking-always use the pusher at the 2:00 position to stop the big seconds hand ticking first. After that, you can use the pusher at 4:00 to reset the chronograph. In some (not all) chronographs, if you totally reset while the chronograph functions are running, you could cause problems to those functions.

I know for expensive watch you can't afford a cheap battery, they "break" eventually. So, what kind of battery should I get then?

There are no expensive watch batteries-even the best are about $2 USD apiece.

Almost every Swiss quartz watch comes with a Renata battery. Use a Renata 394 (SR936SW) or an equivalent battery for this particular watch. Renata is a brand from Switzerland that is highly regarded by Swiss watchmakers and brands. Tissot and all other quartz Swiss watches I’ve seen use Renata, and a Renata came inside this watch for me. They are inexpensive ($2 or $3 USD apiece) and Amazon sells them. It is very easy to change the battery for this watch. Just buy a watch repair kit, also available on Amazon. If you want to use a different battery brand other than Renata for this particular watch, search for “Renata 394 battery equivalent” or “SR936SW battery equivalent.” Renata batteries typically last 2-3 years. I’ve had some last longer than 3 years. If you use the chronograph function a lot, batteries will drain faster.

Renata batteries are the most reliable and last the longest too. They are also the battery of choice fitted by premier Swiss watch houses including Tag HEUER, Breitling, Chopard and even Rolex for their quartz collections.

Is any part of the watch luminous?

The hands and bezel dot at 60 are luminous but not great-dive watches will have a better lume than chronographs like this watch.

Is the strap truly an oddball 19mm?

Yep strap says 19-18 on it, 120/80....19mm straps are available
