It works if you use it!
This is my second Mayo Clinic diet journal. I loved the first one so much that when I fell off the wagon over the holidays, I decided to order another one to restart my diet. I am rating four stars instead of five onlu because the original edition had beautiful color pages, and the new edition is in black and white. Makes it easier to make copies in case it goes out of print, I guess, but as shallow as it sounds, a nice, pretty, colorful journal helps motivate me to use it more.

The Mayo Clinic Diet is the Best!
This journal is very helpful in keeping me accountable for what I eat and reminding me how much to eat within each food category. The Mayo Clinic Diet, in general, is based on health, in addition to weight loss, and has been the best diet ever. I lost about 20 pounds following the Mayo Clinic Diet about 5 years ago (which was my goal), and I have maintained my weight since then by continuing with the Mayo Clinic Diet. Think long-term: Expect to loose 1-2 pounds per week (it varies by week), which seems small, but in a month you'll have lost 8 pounds, in two months, possibly 16! And you'll pick up some excellent eating habits.

The quick start diet is a great place to start.
We have been following this diet for about 3 months and it changed our lives. I now put together meals using these guidelines and we continue to lose about a pound a week as long as we get exercise every other day. I only give it 4 stars because the quick start diet can be confusing and could be more efficient by including a shopping list.

Better than the Online Version
I bought the online version hoping it would be like the journal, only more interactive..But the journal is actually much better! I lost 6 pounds after doing the loose it phase! Its a very common sense approach to weight loss. You can track your meals, exercise and weight, and after every week there is sort of a reflection page to help you get back on track if you fall off. I will buy again once my 8 weeks are full from this book.FYI I couldn't find any reviews on the online diet mayo clinic website, but I find it glitchy. It always says I'm a day ahead, some links won't work, limited food selection, so not really worth it in my opinion.

Two thumbs up!!!
Great book and great lifestyle eating plan. I lost 9 pounds the first 2 weeks and averaged 1-2# after that, with a plateau thrown in here and there. I highly recommend this book if you want to learn how to make lasting dietary changes.

Love it. Helped me establish new good habits and break old bad ones. Highly recommend.

love the common sense approach
Really like that most of this diet is common sense with goals/habits that you get to pick and choose yourself to learn and get comfortable with before adding more.

Mayo Clinic.....Can’t Go Wrong!
Great way to track my weight loss. Also have the book which is loaded with low fat, healthy, yummy recipes. It’s like the Bible for weight loss. If you’re trying to lose weight or just trying to eat healthier, this book & journal rocks. Hubby has lost 20 pounds, so it’s working for us! Mayo Clinic has the best diets!
