How hard is it?
I purchased two of these blades for a tactical setup. I wanted two identical blades, lightweight, sleek and not too overly long. They do fit the bill.........but, they are not identical. As far as their shapes, they are spot on and they are great looking blades, don't get me wrong. On one of the blades, the hole at the back of the tang is three mm off from the other one. It's not that big of a thing by itself, but, as I was drilling my holes in my scales which are clamped to my tang, my drill bit, "bit" into the tang. These were advertised as hardened. I don't own a drill bit that can bite into steel hardened to 56+1. I was rather taken aback. At this point I'm not sure how to proceed.

Sharp and great pattern
Liked it so much that I bought a second one, I chose iron wood for a handle (see pic). Came in sharp, nice etched pattern, this finished one was a gift, next one is mine!Love it!

These Blades Are NOT Hardened
I am a professional knife maker. I bought this blade to see the quality of the Damascus. This company sells Damascus billets and I wanted a sample. When I tested this blade with my Rockwell Hardness Tester it came out to 25 HRC! Knives that are properly hardened should be from %& HRC to 61 HRC with this steel.I'm going to try and harden it in my heat treat kiln and see if I can salvage it. I may just harden it and then break it to look at grain structure...
