I do not recommend this item and will be returning it to Amazon.Item was delivered in a single cardboard box and required assembly. The packaging inside the box was good and all items were present. Four bolts required a hex key to tighten them but no hex key was supplied, and my largest hex key (#6) was too small for the bolts. No assembly instructions were provided, so there was a degree of guesswork to sort out the usage of the various bits. The illustrations on Amazon's web site looked to me as if this was all-metal construction and was described as being steel alloy material. The item I received was made of red plastic for the base, top piece and guide piece. The two pillars, spring and all other components were metal. When I got the item assembled, the two centre pins remained a bit of a mystery as I was unable to discover any way of storing these securely and out of the way of the drill area. The chuck was probably the best engineered piece, but there was a noticeable wobble in the bearing. Fortunately this was confined to the drill - the drill bit ran true.There was a serious problem with the guide piece/fence assembly. the guide rods are intended to slide through the base and screw into captive nuts. I found it impossible to persuade the rods to do this as the holes were too small. I might have succeeded if I'd used pliers and great force to grip the rods, but this would have marked the rods and thereby marred the guide piece which was meant to slide on the rods. Then I discovered that there was absolutely no way to clamp the guide piece in position. There were holes for the bolts to do this, but the holes had no threads. Overall, the guide piece was as useful as a chocolate teapot.The item did the job, just. The top piece was stiff and reluctant to slide on the guide rods and had a very annoying tendency to stick on one side at the very top. The depth stop did its job and the base was reasonably stable despite the absence of the guide piece. Because it was impossible to secure the guide piece this could not be used as a fence so drilling a series of holes along the edge of a board would require re-measuring (and hoping) or using a template for every hole.Overall, what could have been a useful piece of kit was let down by unnecessary defects.

The product that arrived was not at all what is descried. What turned up was made of very cheap and flimsy plastic and is in no way fit for purpose. Amazons solution, return it but as it is Amazon who sell it it should be de-listed or the correct product sent. Absolutely unacceptable.

When the jig arrived I feared the worst, however it wasn't as bad as many reviews would have you believe. Of course at the price it sells for, to expect a Woodpecker is somewhat naive. Yes, it needed tweaking, although unlike many I've seen it was rigid and there was no play whatsoever. The red parts are plastic and not aluminium as stated, yet after trying it out, it works. To assist the plunge mechanism it lightly oiled the prongs and made sure all the nuts and screw were well tightened down. I can imagine the quality of some of these jigs could vary, but I can say on this occasion, for the price I have no complaints.

Not very good cheep Chinese RUBBISH I accidentally dropped it just off my workbench and the drill chuck bearings fell apart?????

This is not as described no aluminium other than 2 poor quality bits if tube made from thin plastic that won't last five minutes, only put one star as I can't put no stars!

The images show a quality aluminium machined product, what you will receive is a plastic version of very poor quality. The metal parts are also of very poor quality. The bearings are a sloppy fit and just fall out of the moulding, the threads on the drive spindle are so poorly formed that the chuck cannot be fitted. Overall the product lacks rigidity and is not fit for purpose. I have returned my purchase and still await a refund.

Load of crap states on the advert that it's made from aluminium , but it's not it's made from plastic once the drill is fitted the movement is not accurate at all load of rubbish waste of money , stay clear

The media could not be loaded.  It's plastic, described as alloy the pictures indicate its alloy, not quality in any way
