Q: Can this be used for hiking?

These can definitely be used for hiking. They’re very grippy and comfortable. I haven’t done any intense hiking but I think they would be perfect for short to medium hikes. They’re very breathable too, so great for warm weather.

No, the canvas are thick and don't stretch

you can google the answer to this. I did. EU 38 is a US 7.5 or a UK 5.5. I ordered a half size larger for this shoe as I do with high-cut shoes or boots. But this is my preference.

Q: Are these slip resistant for kitchen work?

Out of all the places I have worn this boot, I have never worn them in a kitchen! I will hesitantly say "Yes", as they have stood up to amphibious assault training and the jungle warfare training center - haven't slipped on any surfaces that I have encountered.
