Maverick Essentials Beard + Mustache Elixer - 90 Count - Thicker, Fuller, Faster Hair Growth Supplement

As a 46 year old woman, I’m not looking to grow a better beard or “stache”. However, I do have thinning, and increasingly scraggly hair. Just like many other middle aged women (yikes! am I really?!?!) I’ve been wishing for some miraculous improvement. Since the hair gods don’t seem to answer, I decided to try a supplement.Why try a men’s hair supplement? Well, I’m pretty sure the vitamins don’t know they’re supposed to focus only on facial hair (Oh, gawd, I hope not 😳) and the additional ingredients seemed right up my alley.I ordered this supplement 2 weeks ago and have been using it daily since it’s arrival. Despite all of the ribbing I got from my sister when she discovered my bottle, I feel like my hair (on top of my head) is coming in thicker and smoother. Time will tell, as most supplements like this, repeated and continual usage will show the best results. But, so far so good! And, no added beard or stache so far. If it comes to that, I promise to update this review to warn all you ladies 😊Thumbs up, Maverick Essentials!I’ve included in this review a summary of the research I did of the ingredients that aren’t part of the recommended daily value.Most of these have additional health benefits, aside from hair growth. I’ve included explanations, but some pretty much help everything, which I’ve stated, where necessary. Doing a standard google search yields plenty of info. For reliability’s sake, stick to webmd or .gov sites, but there is a bunch of interesting information out there!Many of these ingredients are supportive of increased blood circulation, which is a major factor in hair health. A couple are geared towards men’s prostrate health, though not necessarily without benefits to women. Unless you take birth control. That is the 1 caveat specific to women—DO NOT TAKE THIS UNLESS YOU WANT TO POSSIBLY BECOME PREGGO!!! Which is probably what you don’t want, if you’re on BC.Read on if you’re interested. • CHOLINE BITARTRATEAn essential micronutrient, similar to the B vitamins, needed by the body for many processes (including hair-making). There is evidence that supplementing additional choline (the liver produces this nutrient) helps liver disease and asthma and aids in preventing certain birth defects. There are insufficient studies to back up other claims, but that often means the science just hasn’t been done yet. Choline is essential for too many body functions to mention here, but check out webmd or search further to learn more. • SILICA (bamboo extract)Basically, this is the most common mineral on earth. It is found in plants, drinking water, rocks, soil, etc...We consume and drink it in most all of our foods. So why supplement? More studies are needed, but a growing number of specialists point to silica’s importance for bone health as well as key for the body’s ability to create other healthy tissue (read: hair/skin/nails). • INOSITOLFrankly, when I saw this ingredient I was completely won over. There are studies indicating this substance helps some of the troubling symptoms of PCOS, and two of my main health concerns- insulin resistance and lowering triglycerides. There are a bunch of other body processes where inositol is useful, if not essential, including those regarding hair and skin. • PARA-AMINOBENZOIC ACIDYes, this is PABA you find in your sunscreen. And there is growing evidence that ingesting (in safe amounts) not only supports your skin’s ability to withstand sun damage, but also your hair’s! PABA has negative interactions with antibiotics and cortisone, though probably in higher doses than one serving of Maverick Essentials’ Beard and Stache Elixir. • L-CYSTEINEIs an amino acid used by the body for many functions, including the formation of protein structures (read: hair/skin/nails). In larger amounts it is used to counteract acetaminophen toxicity. Also in larger amounts it can have a negative interaction with nitroglycerin, but the small dose included in this elixir should not pose a problem. • MSMYou’ve probably already heard all the hype about MSM, so I’ll spare you any of my input, except to say I already take this, at a higher dose to support my aching joints. I’ve noticed that many products related to joint health often correlate to hair and skin health, as well. • GINGKO BILOBAAgain, if you haven’t heard about this supplement, you probably haven’t heard much in the last decade or two 😆 It mainly acts as an antioxidant and improves blood flow. Greater blood flow= more nutrients delivered to hair follicles. 💡 Contraindications are noted for several types of medications, so please, check webmd if you take ANY other supplements or ANY prescriptions. Fun fact: Gingko Biloba trees have been around for 270 million years! So they witnessed the birth and death of dinosaurs! • SAW PALMETTOOne of two ingredients that point to the usage of this product for men, though not necessarily excluding women. Except maybe women taking birth control or estrogen- there are known interactions between Saw Palmetto and these prescriptions. Mainly because of this supplement’s effects with testosterone, which is where it helps with hair loss. But if you take birth control, you definitely DO NOT want to take this supplement as Saw Palmetto could drastically reduce the effectiveness (YOU COULD BECOME PREGGO!!!) • PYGEUM AFRICANUMThis comes from the bark of the African Cherry tree and is mainly linked to improving urinary tract issues associated with enlarged prostrate. This is the second ingredient which points to Maverick Essentials Beard & Stache Elixir designation as a mens supplement. But it does not exclude women, and even possibly supports women’s urinary tracts as well. • GREEN TEA EXTRACTThis supplement provides an unbelievable amount of support for so many of the body’s functions, with varying amounts of supporting scientific study, mostly because inadequate research has been done. This supplement does have many interactions with other medications and supplements, but usually at higher doses. Still, if you take any other medications, please look it up on webmd for counter-indications. • GRAPE SEED EXTRACTAnother fantastic multitasker when it comes to supporting health and all of the body’s functions. Absolutely amazing product, I was a little skeptical at first because of other products I have taken in the past. However I was very impressed that I notice a difference. I used to grow a thin patchy beard, but it has helped thicken my beard and reduce the patchy areas. Many people think it happens over night but taking this product and giving it time and you will grow a thicker fuller beard. The cost isn't killer either compared to several "big name brands." I 100% like this product and plan to reorder.

I've been taking this supplement for a few weeks now, not to improve my beard growth, but because it is chocked full of essential vitamins that I have a hard time finding elsewhere in a vegan formula. I've noticed my skin and hair have improved - always a plus! Give them a try, even if you don't want to don a 'stache.

I was not too sure about this, but I thought I would give it a try. It’s excellent! I’ve never been able to grow a full beard. My hair is normally sparse in some areas, but I can see a definite improvement. My beard is fuller! It’s only been a couple of weeks but I definitely will continue to take this.

I've used a few Maverick Essential products over the years, when I am lucky enough to find them available. I know it may seem strange to use a supplement product for a better beard -but I do actually notice more fullness and sheen to my beard when I use their Beard & Stache Elixir. I do recommend it.

I started taking this several weeks ago so I could grow in a goatee while being on vacation for 10 days (have to shave for work). It seemed to grow in faster and thicker. Plus it's loaded with so much good stuff...it replaced some other stuff I'm taken.

I've been using this for the last couple months. My beard had been stuck in a rut and looking a bit scraggly and not growing in length. Thanks to this product it is growing longer and fuller and looks a whole lot less scraggly!

My beard is so long and full now I use to be a 2 now I’m a solid 9.5. I wake up in the morning and piss manliness.
