EShine Hand Wave Activated Under Cabinet LED Lighting Kit, Dimmable, 1-Pack 20 in - Touchless Dimming Control, Black Under Counter Lights for Kitchen, Garage, Office, Desk - Warm White (3000K)

This is our third set of under cabinet lights in our kitchen. We had halogen (charred cabinets, melting plastic - you get the idea), and dim, battery-eating puck lights. So, we tried these EShine dimmable warm white lights. We bought a set of three 12" units, and separate single 20" and 12" units to cover all the under-cabinets. First, they are very low profile, so no worries about them showing or shining in my eyes. Next, installation was super easy: they come with excellent 3M tape that works great, just peel and stick. The hand wave activates at close range, so I went ahead and installed them close to the front. The wire clips are very easy to use, although it would be good if the 3-pack had 3 clips per unit as the single packs have. I didn't need three for the single installations, since I wasn't having the wire jump between cabinet frames, so I used those extras for the three-pack installation. I used some velcro I have to wrap up the wire slack neatly; a twist tie would probably work, too. What I love: The hand wave! No more searching for a switch with yucky hands! The light is bright enough for my tired eyes, and the dimmer is great as well for maintaining low level lighting in the kitchen (needed for those snack grabs). I also love the fact that the light is spread out; the halogens I had glared so much on my granite counter-tops, it was counter-productive since it blinded me if I didn't put a dish-towel over the glare.Anyhow, it's been a week, and so far so good. If they break down, I'll come back and let y'all know, so check the date on this review to see how long they have lasted. Right now, I highly recommend these lights.Update: It is now September 2020, and we are moving; leaving the lights. The lights still work perfectly; never a problem. Good purchase.

I was skeptical about these lights. They seemed too simple to work as well as all the 5 star ratings indicated but I ordered them anyway and gave them a shot and surprise - they work perfect.The kitchen was renovated in 2009 - full gut, soffit removal, plumbing rerouted, rewired outlets, ceiling height cabinets and tile back splash installed, I don't want to be cutting holes, fishing wires and installing new switched outlets but I wanted under cabinet lights. The two 20 inch EShine lights were ideal for my purposes. They installed in less than ten minutes each and most of that time was tying up the excess wire to the underside of the cabinet.ProSimple designEasy installationHighly effective motion activated on/off switch. The light stays on until you place your hand under the sensor to turn them off3M adhesive strips - top quality, full length adhesive mounting strips plus smaller clips with 3M adhesive to hang the extra power cordBlends in beautifully with my black cabinets and silver backsplashFlexibility - there are two power inlets on the strip - one is full time "on" and the other one activates the motion switch. This is ideal if you already have switched outlets installed and want to bypass the motion sensorComes with hard mount screws if you prefer those over the adhesive stripsConNo real "con" but one very small suggestion. A small nylon zip tie for tying the wire bundle to tightly attach it to the adhesive clips helped me out on each light - would be a good idea to include one with each strip. You can use the wire "twistie" but they lack the strength of a nylon zip tie.In summary, these inexpensive LED lights are simple to mount, have an elegant motion switch interface and look great. I ordered one 40" light and one 20" light to use under cabinets over my desk area in my art studio. The bright white lights are really nice and give off plenty of light.This turned out to be quite an adventure. I don't usually post reviews, but always find them helpful. In this case, I thought my experience may be helpful to others.Upon receiving the lights, the 20" worked perfectly. Great dimming control and stayed lit. Unfortunately, the 40" turned off repeatedly and would not stay on for more than three seconds. I reached out to EShine and explained that the sensor must be bad. Amelia was so helpful and sent a replacement light out right away!A few days later, I received the new 40" light and had to remove the defective one. FYI...if you're not sure about placement yet, do NOT install the screw caps. They are impossible to remove and you don't get any extras in the package. I finally used a drill bit to punch through it and pry it out. Happily, the new 40" light worked perfectly!!At this point, I had been using the 20" light for only a few days (maybe 5 days at the most). It started making a really annoying hum/buzzing sound that was really high pitched. I tried hooking my new 40" light to the 20" via the cable I received and the buzz got worse. I was looking forward to having my two lights linked so that they could turn on/off and dim simultaneously. So, of course, this was disappointing.I contacted EShine again and Amelia again came to the rescue. She immediately sent a new 20" light which I received today. So, again I tried to link the two lights together. That caused the 20" to buzz (though quieter than the last one). Then, I connected the 20" to it's own power supply and it's working fine. The only problem is that now I have wires all over my desk, so I ordered a paintable cable management kit to try to disguise them.Lessons learned: Be very careful with the tiny screws as they strip out easily. Pre-drilling the holes definitely helps. DO NOT place screw caps until you are confident the light is installed in it's final position :). Also, the light bar has metal along one side. So, if you install it with the metal facing you, the light shines to the opposite direction. If you install it with the metal facing away from you and towards the wall (and you plan to sit at a desk) the lights will be shining right into your eyes. This is a problem when you want to link the lights together with a cable as the opposite ends need to be linked....meaning one light will need to be facing the opposite direction than the other. So, the lights will be shining in different directions. I'm an artist and I notice these kinds of details, so that bothered me because I could see a difference in the way the light was casting. In any case, I ended up installing the lights so that they faced the same direction, which meant they each needed their own power supply (which stopped the buzzing anyway).If these stop working someday, I probably would research other options to replace them. However, I'm very happy to say that EShine wholeheartedly backs their products and made sure that I had working lights. So, I am impressed with the company and just hope that these lights will last awhile. They definitely cast a beautiful bright light which is what I needed over my workspace for the sewing machines and silhouette.

This is our third light. We have three different sizes and they are so easy to use. Two are over our counter tops and we have one in our panty cupboard as it’s quite dark in there. Light works a dream.

The media could not be loaded.  I needed some extra lighting at my desk and wanted a strip light that would fit in the open part of the hutch area.I didn't even think about motion activation and then I saw this one. Not only does it have a great lighting effect, it is really fun to turn on and off (see the video)! I also really appreciate how easy it is to dim and brighten this, and it really does have great range.It was super easy to install, worked exactly as it said it would, and I can't see what issues I will have with this.Make sure that you install it in a way that you won't accidentally turn it on and off. Depending where you put your hands. At the height that I've put it, it doesn't look like I'll accidentally set it off.If you want, you can even chain this to other lights which makes it very flexible depending on your needs.Color is slightly yellowish so remember that because you can't change that, just the brightness level. I like this kind of color but some people like it more white or blue.The only small issue I have is perhaps that you have to put the plug only on one side of the light for the infrared hand motion to be able to work. If you put it on the other side, the light still works, but not motion activated. That's a small thing because normally once you've installed it you should know which side the plug should go on, but then it means in the future if you want to change which side you put the plug in, you'll have to reinstall it.However, that really doesn't impact my rating, just giving a heads up.

I have been trying to find a great light for my desk. I have tried single lights as well as 2 lights. They took up valuable desk space and were not effective. As I age I need more light but bright lights give my wife a headache. I thought this light might work.It is fantastic. We can go from warm white to cool white. For us it is perfect

Easy to install under the kitchen cabinet. Lots of light and really brightens an otherwise dark counter.The dimming feature is handy if you need to use it.The motion detector is a plus, just swipe your hand under the unit and turn the light on or off.Comes complete with wall mount clips for the cord.

Just installed and absolutely love this product. We bought warm white 20" for a double kitchen cabinet. Plenty of light and exactly what we were looking for. New buyers can certainly trust all the positive reviews. Motion activation is so convenient especially when you may have sticky fingers. Yes the dimmer is a little tricky to learn but does work just fine. The user needs to do a little practice to catch on how it works. We see very little use for it as we bought for the bright light addition and will be off most of time when not needed for light.Only disappointment is the inability to be able to use the plug in on either end preventing us from using plug closest to plug in.
