Love that it creates a lot less mess than an oscillator, quiet too, not too much effort. You have to let the blade string do its thing and not apply too much pressure if you want a straight cut. Straightforward to changeout the string blades.Worked well for 2x4 and 1/2x3 plastic. The wider the piece the more you have to work at it. Easy work to cut small 1x2 wide materials. Don't know why I didn't get this earlier! Thanks!

I had a traditional coping saw but even the narrow width of the blade made maneuvering the saw in tight cuts a bit challenging. This fret saw is narrower than a conventional coping saw - it's essentially a wire with barbs on it.Cutting through hobbyist woods like pine and poplar has been easy but I believe that this saw would also handle harder woods like oak, too.I recommend this fret saw.

Timely delivery and exactly what I ordered

The issue is the saw blade itself. Basically a round wire with some abrasive material addressing on a few spaced out spots along the wire. It definitely would benefit from different blades that cut at the front over the entire length like a normal blade.

Saws great, delivery was speedy. but my effort to locate a source of replacement blades has not produced anything yet. Hope I haven't bought a limited use item.

The twisted blades only cut at certain intervals, not the entire blade as a normal hand saw blade should. It didn’t cut as needed so I returned it.
