Great long distance cable
I had a device with a USBC connector that was very picky about the data cable connected to it AND it was about 40ft away from the computer. I tried some other extension cables including an optical and none worked. I decided to give this optical cable a try and it worked!! I plugged it in and everything worked perfectly. It is fairly expensive but it works.

Really, I had doubts but I have zero lag on my Xbox controller to my PC. Helldivers on the big screen!EDIT - I now have the same problem as others. Cable stopped working and started to split at the end. ONLY used for my controller to PC. Amazon won't help. I'm not amused.Update! - their customer service, not Amazon, sent me a new cable after I showed them this early wear issue. Thanks so much!

May be great, but not for my purpose
I wanted this as a longer tethering cable for my Panasonic GH5. The signal from the GH5 just can't make it through the cable. The cable works for other things, so it's not that the cable is bad (thus the five stars). It's just not appropriate for use when tethering a GH5.

Cable completely died after only a few weeks of use.
Only used this cable for gaming, for my Xbox controller. Didn't travel with it anywhere, so no wear or tear on it. Did fine, until suddenly, it just stopped working. The USB c end almost seems "loose" and not well fitted. I'm absolutely furious and heartbroken over this, as I sunk way too much money into this cable just for it to completely die after a few weeks of use after Christmas. Absolutely disappointed, do not recommend.

Could be decent if you have specific needs for slower low bandwidth devices
This is only useful in very particular situations. Even then it drops voltage so low that it stops handshaking with the devices when actually trying to get even half the advertised speed (5gbps causes failure)It seems that in any situation of large boosts of throughput, he cable can not handle that and providing the proper voltages. I have swapped the device and host around and no combo of computer or device fixes this. It works fine for a 4k webcam that is lower bandwidth, or similar low throughput devices. But the second you ask for larger amounts of transfer speed the cable fails.I think for webcams, or if you are plugging into a usb hub that has power, then that is the ideal situation for this cable. Otherwise I am not so sure. Could mine be defective, sure it could but the situations are pretty telling of vdroop and voltage loss.

Works great
