Not what I expected, really. The base isn't built-in. It's a thin piece of plywood slid through grooves, just as you see in MDF drawers or loo roll tidies. Not an issue, unless you plan to stack books, paper, or anything else heavy in there. Unfortunately, that was precisely my intention. I'll still use it to store all my daughter's log books and crafts from reception, as intended, but I'll stick some pads on the bottom and reinforce it. I recommend you do the same, unless you want the base to give in and crack in time. Also, mine was cracked at the base upon delivery, which comes as no surprise given the thin layer of bubble wrap. On the other hand, it's large and spacious, and I really appreciate the rounded edges.

Where do I start , flimsy carcase barely 5mm thick made of strips edge glued together of some wood NOT wood I recognise with a very distinct odour ( not pleasant ), very open soft grain little strength you can bend the whole front and sides . The base is ply wood and judging by how easy to deform not very thick as this is not actually the base but is about 5mm up, the box resting on the bottom of the sides any thing of any weight stored is going to break this . the lid is secured by the thinnest pair of hinges I have seen . inserted in slots down in to the thin wood first time anyone over opens the lid ( no stay or strap) or pushes down on the lid either the hinges will break or the wood will split . I think that is enough I am returning the 2 I bought , do not bother with these unless you want light flimsy storage you will find better . I would not even pay £5.00 for these as they would be to much trouble .

Very poor quality product. Hinges are far too small and appear to have been wedged into a crack in the wall of the frame rather than fixed in place. These will give out and snap at the first suggestion of force. There are cracks already present on delivery where the hinges were forced in place. The base is just a cheap insert slice much like you’d find at the back of an IKEA drawer. As such it won’t support any weight. A few books and it’ll likely snap out. What a piece of junk.

Need a large box as a prop for a show. As I don't have enough time to make one, I decided to "cheat" a little and buy one. A very large box indeed. Ideal for my needs. So versatile for uses. You can put anything you want in it to store. As it is plain you can decorate it however you want. I am going to paint it bright red. I might very well purchase another one for my own use as I have so many things I need to store away. A very good buy. Thank you.

The item was delivered damaged. The lid fell off from the hinges on opening & the lid was broken as I took it out of the cling film. 2 tiny little pins, no more than 1cm sticking out where the hinge was detached. Very poor quality & thoroughly disappointing. Too late now as it was to use as a last resting place for my pet.
