Chiodos returns refreshed for 2014 with original front man Craig Owens, for the first time since their smash hit, BONE PALACE BALLET, and new guitarist Thomas Erak, former front man and guitarist of the Fall of Troy. The new album, DEVIL, was recorded with David Bottrill (Tool, Muse, Coheed & Cambria) and showcases the band at their absolute best. DEVIL features the singles '3 AM', 'Under Your Halo' and 'Ole Fishlips is Dead Now'.

Their best yet
This album has all of the best qualities of previous Chiodos albums and is everything I had hoped for. I think Craig Owens made a triumphant return as frontman but it's the music that really does it for me. Afterall, I liked Illuminaudio just fine without Owens. He does add a little extra in terms of classic Chiodos sound so it's probably best that he's on the album. As far as the band members, their personal problems still aren't completely gone but I hope they work it out so it's not a short-lived reunion. I'd hate to have to wait too long for a follow-up album. They do a great job of placing the heavy parts sparingly and just where they have the most impact. Musically, it feels like all the parts were worked out just right to give a rise and fall of emotion and compliment each other. It's easy to get lost in the melody and then get slammed with aggression in a way that goes beyond previous Chiodos albums. Many parts surprised me at how strong and impacting they were. It's a great mix of range and styles and a truly grand return for both Owens and the rest of the band. The album also features the production of David Bottrill and a new guitar player, ex-Fall of Troy.

Fantastic album! I’d give it five, but when I ordered it the cd itself was missing and I only received empty packaging. Another glorious job by amazon.

Reunited and it feels so good
I've been a fan of Chiodos for about a decade now. I love all of the EPs and, needless to say, All's Well That Ends Well is nothing short of spectacular. Unlike most fans, I really didn't like Bone Palace Ballet initially; it was only when I came back to it a few years later that I appreciated how good it was.I've continued to follow Craig Owns and the remainder of the group since they split. I really enjoyed both D.R.U.G.S. and Isles & Glaciers. I liked Illuminaudio, but it just didn't feel like the Chiodos I wanted. Now, onto Devil:I was ecstatic when I found out that Craig was returning and, while I don't think anything they do can ever top All's Well That Ends Well, this album is damn good. It's the album you've been waiting for since 2007. The sound is back to classic Chiodos but in a lot of ways, especially lyrically, it feels like a follow-up to D.R.U.G.S. (which isn't a bad thing at all). This album definitely makes up for lost time and I am really looking forward to future releases.

Finally, another Chiodos album!
As a Chiodos fan since the band's beginning, I was really looking forward to this album and their tour. This album is pretty good but I don't know how long it will take until I go back to listening to All's Well That Ends Well and Bone Palace Ballet. I expected the band to progress more on their sound since the addition of the guitarist from The Fall of Troy and the absence of Jason Hale, but I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I also can't help but feel that this is just a combination of their past work so they can please their fans with the same type of material. When Craig wrote songs, he lived the lyrics and emotions. I'm not feeling it come across as much on this record as much as the last ones. This is a good album and you should buy it, but buy their earlier work too!

Absolutely Perfect
I was a fan since I first heard those high pitched, girly vocals from one of my favorite frontmen Craig owens off their first album. All's Well That Ends Well was a classic. No Doubt about that, but then came Bone Pallace Ballet. Melodical, theatrical, heavy, everything I wasn't expecting from their sophomore album. That album came together so perfectly and you could just feel the passion oozing from your speakers. Now on to Devil. It did not disappoint. Not one bit. There was not a single song I didnt enjoy. The best way I could put it is if you take the absolute best from those two albums, put them together and sprinkle a much more seasoned vocalist, then you have Devil. Don't second guess this album. Hearing the original band, (Im aware of the new guitarist) especially drummer and vocalist, brought a tear to my eye. Chiodos is back and has never been better. Hats off to these men. Now go buy the album!!!

Masterpiece
Ive been a serious fan of Chiodos since the first time I heard theres no penguins in alaska. With the release of Illuminaudio I all but accepted the fact that the Chiodos brand of music was over. I gave D.R.U.G.S. a shot and they just didnt do it for me. Craig Owens' acoustic stuff was good but just too soft. Then I got word the boys were getting back together.I bought every single as soon as it was released, falling in love with each. The Chiodos sound is not only back, its refined, its matured. The pain of the separation is prevalent. Craig's spiritual struggle is as well. But theses tracks are utterly amazing. The things these guys do are brilliant. Only Chiodos could produce a score of this magnitude.Every sound that you hear is the result of an instrument being played. Every word bleeds emotion. From the bottom of my heart, thank you once again Chiodos.

They've still got it
Wow!I've been a longtime fan of Chiodos since "Alls well that ends well" back in high school. I still listen to that regularly and came to amazon to order a new copy, when I stumbled across this newer album I didn't even know existed! Thanks to amazon I was able to listen to the MP3 version while waiting for the actual album in the mail and I am blown away. Only wish they'd tour again since I never got to see them live

Really Enjoyable
I am a big fan of the first two Chiodos albums so was very excited to hear Craig Owens was returning for this album. I was not disappointed. The album is filled with the things that I loved about the previous albums, heavy riffs, awesome vocals (both screaming and not). and really random bits! There is a slightly more mature side to it, with Craig's matured, slightly lower vocals, and I can hear a lot of D.R.U.G.S in some of the songs (which I am very happy with). The vocals have a lot more range than the earlier albums. The songs that do not contain any screams were a really pleasant surprise, with a few really beautiful ones (Under your Halo in particular). If you like their early stuff you should get a lot out of enjoyment this, and hopefully like the progression this album has made.

Talent pretty much wasted though
I bought this as Thomas Erak (The Fall of Troy) joined as the guitarist. Talent pretty much wasted though. It's just not my bag, really.
