Much better than paper
This is an excellent product and very good value for money.I hadn't had my Aeropress for more than about a week, when I discovered there was more than one way to filter my brew. There are a number of metal disc filters available, but this seemed to be one of the better offerings. I ordered a single filter, then found two were available at a cheaper price per disc, so ordered them instead.I haven't been disappointed. The coffee seems to have a bit more body, more like the normal stove-top pot I had been using, but certainly different from the original paper filters. The discs fit easily into the end cap - it isn't a tight fit (like some alternatives I've seen reviews of) - but it does mean you must brew 'inverted' otherwise the coffee naturally starts to flow through if you use the Aeropress with the filter end down, as per the original instructions. In my opinion, using paper gives me a very smooth finish to my coffee, but having used both, I am firmly down on the side of metal discs and I thoroughly recommend this pair of discs to anyone. The seller is genuine and really cares about customer satisfaction. Buy with confidence.

Koffi Mesh Filter
Having purchased an Aeropress, I decided to try a reusable filter. I have only tried the mesh, so far, but am impressed with its performance. It allows the full flavour of the coffee to pass through without loss. Paper filters can hold onto the subtle notes, which can make such a difference to the coffee experience. The Koffi fits perfectly into the Aeropress and I have not found any difficulty in connecting the Aeropress with it in place. After making your brew, it rinses easily under the tap, ready for the next time.So to the negatives. So far the only negative is when I use coffee that has been ground ultra fine in my electric blade grinder. Some of the finest particles do pass through and settle in the bottom of the cup. However, according to Aeropress, you shouldn't be grinding that fine anyway! This is definitely a well designed product and if you are concerned with the paper waste as well as the loss of flavour from using disposable filters, this is a must.

Not impressed
Not impressed. The filters I received were different to the ones in the illustration, mine have a steel rim and not the plastic/rubberised rim as in the illustration. They're also a very loose fit in the basket which makes difficult to use the AeroPress in the inversion method recommended by KOFFI DISC. I did achieve the inversion method by balancing the KOFFI DISC on the tube of the AeroPress whilst inverted, and then screwing the basket on. All in all, quite a faff and very fiddly. Also grains of coffee leaked into my cup through the basket due to the fact that the KOFFI DISC was such a poor fit. I think I'll revert to the paper filters which I've been using without a problem for the past three years.

No more paper filters!
I've been using an Aeropress for a bit over 2.5 years at the time of writing. I own two : one at work and one at home. I was running low on paper filters and thought I'd take another look at "permanent" filters. Last time I needed more filters I decided to stick with the paper ones, this time I thought I might as well give these Koffi discs a try and I'm pleased that I did.The two filter disks are supplied in a small cardboard wallet. One disc (marked "fine") is a sheet of metal with small holes through it (very much like the holes in the portafilter basket of an espresso machine). The other disc features what appears to be a very fine metal mesh and is appropriately enough marked as "mesh".The mesh filter seems to produce coffee most similar to the paper filters although I would say that it has more body and flavour. The "fine" disc produces coffee with a noticeable amount of very fine grounds - not a huge amount and much less than you would experience with a "French press" for example. At the moment I'm preferring the coffee produced by this "fine" disc, I can only think that it is letting through more of the flavour, possibly in oils and fine solids which the paper or mesh filters are eliminating. You will need to use the "inverted" brewing method, not a problem for me as I have done so since very shortly after getting my Aeropress. I would warn that even if you've been used to inverted brewing with paper filters you may need to refine your technique a little with these. With paper filters I could brew with the Aeropress inverted and then just flip it over into a mug sat right alongside without spilling any coffee - the paper held the brewed coffee back sufficiently for this to work. With either of these disc filters I find it best to place my mug inverted over the filter end of the Aeropress and then tip mug and Aeropress over together as one before pressing down. Koffi sent me an email after purchase with photos showing this method and it works very well for me.I initially bought my Aeropress in 2014 after investigating "pod" machines and deciding that they weren't for me mainly due to the waste those machines produce, the cost of the pods and being restricted by what coffee is available for each pod system. With the Aeropress I was still using a paper filter but that filter could be used a few times (in my experience) and then could be composted or recycled. Much more sustainable than any coffee pod machine. With these filter discs I can now do away with even the tiny paper filters. Just rinse the disc with the Aeropress after brewing. At the moment I'm using one set of these filters at work which is where I use an Aeropress most often, I would imagine I'll soon be buying a set of these to use with my Aeropress at home too.
