I use fine glass paper to remove the build up of grunge ...
When the cue feels sticky, I use fine glass paper to remove the build up of grunge from the cue shaft, wipe down with dry kitchen paper to remove the dust, then a quick wipe and polish with SilKleen to prepare the cue and, when dry and polished with a clean piece of kitchen paper, I give it a polish with CueSilk and the cue just glides over your hands, (plus it smells quite nice as well.)Well worth doing at the start of each season.

Brilliant stuff. I personally clean cue with shaft cleaner first then apply this and cue doesn't stick what so ever even when your hands are hot sticky
